I was the associate director of parish social ministry for five years with the Diocese of Wilmington (Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland). I have worked as an environmental planner and natural resource manager. My experience with the Peace Corps and in refugee camps in Somalia have been formative for my faith. My partner in life and I have a constant source of joy in our son. Cut flowers and organic vegetables are the result of my wonder with gardening. I like to cook sometimes but I always love to eat.

I grew up in Syracuse, New York, graduated from Syracuse University, have a husband (of twenty-five years) and three sons, ages 23, 19 & 14. Our family's lived in Raleigh since 1983 and I've been on the Pastoral Staff at St. Francis since 1992. My "favorite things" are, not necessarily in any order: Reading a good book; vacationing at Sunset Beach, NC, with family & friends; NC State Basketball; and dreaming about my next trip to Italy!

Julio joined the Pastoral Staff at St. Francis six years ago. He and his wife Mary have four children and seven grandchildren. Julio retired from IBM prior to joining our staff. He is originally from the Chicago area. He graduated from Purdue University. He is a Bennedictine Oblate.

Cathy  joined the pastoral staff in June. She is originally from NC but lived and worked in Boston for seven years. Cathy worked at Project Hope, a family shelter in Dorchester, MA, and as Youth Minister at St John the Evangelist Parish in Wellesley, MA. She is an alumnae of Emmanuel College, Boston and of Harvard Divinity School. Most recently she worked at Immaculate Conception Parish in Durham.

Toni joined the Pastoral Staff at St. Francis in May of 1999. She and her husband Andy don't have any children, but are a special aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews. Toni retired from IBM prior to joining our staff. Toni and Andy are both originally from Owego, New York. Toni is a fan of the Virginia Tech Hokies, New York Giants, New York Knicks, Duke and NC State.

Chris began ministry as Director of Evangelization at St. Francis of Assisi in April, 2000. She received her Master's Degree in Religious Studies from John Carroll University in Cleveland. Before coming to the Diocese of Raleigh, she had worked as a parish pastoral minister and a retreat presenter in the Ohio Dioceses of Cleveland and Youngstown. Chris and her husband, Rich, have been married for twenty-six years. They live in Durham.
