IMMACULATE CONCEPTION BULLETIN
June 8, 1997
FRIARS' MIND
It is always heartening to see so many people visit and
decorate the graves of their loved ones. The care of a
cemetery is not only an expression of human respect and
common courtesy but also a measure of Christian faith.
It is again that time of the year to remind you of the
proper care of the cemetery grave sites.
To ensure the proper care of our parish cemetery a few
regulations regarding the care and especially the decoration
of grave sites are necessary. A number of the graves are
repeatedly decorated with materials which are an obstacle to
mowing and trimming, and also a danger to the equipment as
well as personnel.
In keeping with the Archdiocesan Cemetery Policies we ask
you to observe the following.
1) Lot holders are responsible for the maintenance of
monuments and the sodding of new graves.
2) Decoration of graves should be appropriate and
safe.
3) Glass, ceramic, foam plastic and wire decorations are
hazardous and should NEVER be used.
4) Deteriorated decorations will be routinely removed and
discarded after the first weekends of February, May,
August and December. Dangerous, unsightly or wind-blown
decoration will be removed at any time.
For the proper appearance and safe upkeep of our cemetery
please observe these few regulations. If you find that your
grave site has not been mowed or trimmed perhaps it is
because you have made such care difficult or dangerous.

their phone and then their car broke down. It is fixed now,
but they all need our prayers to help them when the new baby
comes. They have decided to keep their baby.
