IMMACULATE CONCEPTION BULLETIN
June 15, 1997
FRIARS' MIND
This final month before the annual Parish Picnic we seem to
enter into a "time warp" where the weeks and days will slip
by unnoticed and July 20 will appear out of no where. But
our picnic director, Sue Steidel, has been faithful to a
well organized plan to keep us on schedule and ready for the
big day.
This year's picnic will have some new features. We will
offer baked chicken as well as the traditional fried
chicken. And we will have extra equipment to keep an ample
supply of freshly fried chicken to meet a large crowd.
Also, there will be a live auction in the afternoon from
four to five. The beer stand will have a new look.
Miniature Golf and Hockey Shot, so popular last year, will
be back but in a more convenient location. Ride tickets
will again be sold in advance to offer a discount for our
parishioners.
The main raffle this year is for a total of $1,000.00 in
prizes: $600.00, $300.00, and $100.00. You will receive
raffle tickets in the mail for your own use or to sell to
friends. The odds much better than the lottery! Better to
have a realistic shot at six hundred dollars than an
infinitesimal chance a six million.
There has been a generous response to the appeals for
help so far, but now we enter into the final weeks which
demand that extra effort. There is a list of special needs
in today's bulletin. Look it over and consider where you
can help. The picnic is more enjoyable and more memorable
when you are part of the action. Give Sue Steidel, our
picnic director, a call at 349-1432.

A FATHER'S DAY BLESSING
May God bless you and guide you
in your very special role as a father.
May it always be a joy and a privilege.
May you treasure your children
from their birth through adulthood,
as unique and precious gifts from God.
May God reward your fatherly love with good
health, peace of mind, contentment in your
work and joy in your leisure.
And may God bless all our fathers
who have gone to their rest.
May they find comfort in the arms of
our heavenly Father. Amen.
