IMMACULATE CONCEPTION BULLETIN
August 3, 1997
FRIAR'S MIND
The Capital Campaign of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will
begin next weekend, August 9-10. The title of the campaign
is "Returning God's Gifts, Sharing our Hope." The
purpose of this campaign is to endow the major works of the
archdiocese to ensure an effective future of the Catholic
church in St. Louis.
The areas for this endowment are: Catholic Education,
Viability of Parishes, Retirement of Archdiocesan priests,
Seminary Education and the maintenance of the Cathedral of
St. Louis.
Endowments have been used for many years by universities,
hospitals and other institutions to provide stable funding
for projected needs. The endowment funds created through
"Returning God's Gifts" will allow the Archdiocese to do
this as well. The gifts received through this campaign will
create a fund where the principal will remain untouched.
Only the income earned through its investments will be used
for the needs of the programs mentioned above. This is an
opportunity to make a gift to the church which will keep on
giving well after your commitment is fulfilled.
The campaign will begin next week with a presentation of
the video "Returning God's Gifts, Sharing our Hope." As
the other parishes we are organizing a team of volunteers to
direct the campaign in our parish. Please consider helping
when you are approached.
This campaign is a reminder of our part in the larger
church and our need to share its vision for the future of
the church, which is our future.
