FRIAR'S MIND

The Archdiocesan Endowment Campaign, "Returning God's Gifts Sharing Our Hope," is now completed for the parishes in Block One, which includes our parish. Parishes in Blocks Two and Three will continue the campaign until the end of December.

Pledges already total over $50 million, indicating that the archdiocese will reach and well surpass the goal of $55 million. Most parishes in Block One have exceeded their goal, including some in disadvantaged areas and those who are conducting their own parish capital campaigns.

Archbishop Rigali asked the Catholics of St. Louis to support this effort to insure the future of the work of the Catholic Church in St. Louis. They have responded generously and can rejoice as the archdiocese works to resolve the vexing problems of financing Catholic schools, maintaining historic parishes, beginning new parishes, clergy retirement and preserving our majestic Cathedral.

The response to the campaign in our own parish was considerably less than in other parishes. Yet there were many who, despite previous commitments and other pressing obligations, did make a generous pledge. And our volunteer workers, though understaffed, gave many hours for the good of the parish and the archdiocese.

To all those who were so generously a part of the campaign, may God reward your goodness and give you joy in the good work you will be a part of forever.
Frs. Earl & Gilmary
