THE PARISH COUNCIL

Parish Council

“God’s People Sharing God’s Word”-- The parish council is the coordinating and unifying structure of the parish community.  It should be the means of achieving full participation by the whole parish in the mission of the church.  The council is a parish in miniature.  Its members gather the thoughts and ideas of the community, harmonize them into a general consensus, and translate this plan into parish activity.

The council operates through a system of commissions to broaden the dialogue and invite the participation of all parishioners.  Through the commissions the laity share, in a spirit of Christian service, their own secular competence for the good of the church.  Membership on the commissions is not limited to members of the council.

The Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Council members are elected on the First Sunday of Advent for a term of three years.
