Saints Peter and Paul School

SS. Peter & Paul School, founded in 1908, sits in the heart of Christian Hill and operates as the educational mission of SS. Peter & Paul Church. Today SS. Peter & Paul School serves 200 students with 115 families in Grades K - 8. Our school offers full elementary curriculum in the basics as well as Spanish, French, Computer, Music, and Physical education classes. A sports program is available for students in Grades 4 - 8 as well as numerous boy scout and girl scout troops for all ages. However, our primary mission is to assist the families in the teachings of the Catholic faith and the passing on of Christian morales and values. Our students are expected to perform community service hours during the middle school years and all students are involved in stewardship projects throughout the liturgical year. Students are encouraged to serve at mass and to begin to rector at mass as well.

SS. Peter and Paul School is fully recognized by the State of Illinois and the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. The school is currently revising its outcomes and goals for each curriculum area and has adopted the Discipline with Purpose program to be fully implemented in the fall of 1997.

SS. Peter and Paul School operates an Annual Fund Drive each February in which constituents are asked to help offset operating costs of the school by donating funds to continue the music and P.E. program and to help install a new computer lab by the fall of 1997. All donations are kept strictly confidential and will be accepted through June 30, 1997. Any donations made after June 30, 1997 must be accepted for the 1998 fund drive.

Our school has a strong tradition in the Alton area and our goal is to continue to provide quality, Catholic education for our children and generations to come.
