Father Louis E. Dorn, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was assigned pastor on February 7, 1992, as our fourteenth pastor. He came from St. Peter Church in Fulton, Missouri to St. Peter Church, Jefferson City. He inherited from Father Fischer the role of Chairman of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, and continues to serve in that role. Perhaps, it was to be expected that our parish would soon have written GUIDELINES FOR MUSICIANS. Along with Father Dorn, lay persons on parish council committees saw the need for capital improvements for which substantial funds would be needed. Major repairs and improvements were needed on Selinger Centre, the Lower Flat (bordering Main Street), and the bell tower of the church. The parish council formed the "Capital Improvements Committee" and began a three year fund drive in October, 1993. Parishioners who are specialists in architecture, engineering, and the various construction trades, volunteering their time and talent, began working together to plan these projects. Before the improvements began Father Dorn was asked to transfer to yet another St. Peter Parish, at Marshall, Missouri. Associate Pastors with Father Dorn were: Revs. Alex Luetkemeyer, OSB (1990-1993), Erwin Konrad (1992-present), Gregory Oligschlaeger (1993-1996). Principal of St. Peter School was Ms. Mary Ellen Budnik (1991-present)
