On July 22, 1994 Father Donald W. Lammers became the fifteenth pastor of St. Peter Parish;
he is a native of Pilot Grove, Missouri. He had a brief acquaintance with St. Peter's
during the summer of 1962, before entering First Theology at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis.
He got a job with the Hoelscher Construction Company, and needed a place to live; so he
rented a small apartment from St. Peter's. It is now the Scouting and Quilting Room.
Circumstances made the mid-nineties the time for a variety of great events to begin unfolding.
Plans and money were in place for the improvements named above to begin; two men of the parish
were nearing readiness for ordination; St. Peter's neighbor a few blocks away, St. Mary's Health
Center, was looking forward to its ninetieth anniversary; St. Peter's itself was thinking of its
one hundred fiftieth anniversary; the parish was continuing to grow.
