St. Nicholas Catholic Church is the oldest Church serving the needs of the African American Catholic Christian Community in St. Louis.
St. Nicholas Church was founded in 1865. Since that time, St. Nicholas has always been a cornerstone of lively faith; our school has been and an institution of academic axcellence; the parish center, a place for recreation, skating, dances and many social activities in the community.
As a people of deep faith, our Church family gathers to worship God and to lift prayers of praise every Sunday morning at 10:30 A.M. Mass. Our worship is accompanied by our Youth Gospel Choir the rest of the month. Special celebrations for healing, reconciliation and blessigns occur each month.

St. Nicholas School has proudly served the academic needs of the youth of this community for 131 years. Our state licensed Preschool accepts children from infancy through five years of age. Our school grades K-8 operates with the belief that learning should enable the student to become a competent individual in contemporary American society. In addition, Central Catholic-St. Nicholas School believes that all students should strive to bring the relationship with Jesus into all dimentions of their lives.
St. Nicholas Parish Social center hosts a variety of activities weekly. It serves as one of the oldest skating rinks in St. Louis. Adult skating is on Monday evenings 7:30 P.M.-11:30 P.M. Family skating is every Saturday afternoon 1:00 P.M. -4:00 P.M. Our Church youth outreach uses the gym every weekday evening from 6:00-9:00 P.M. The center is available to the public for private rentals for skating parties, dances, wedding receptions and meetings.
