Welcome
WELCOME! Welcome to all who celebrate the Mass with us today. May
God's grace and peace fill all of us so that we can serve one another in
unity and love. If you have a question, a prayer request or any need,
please speak to one of the priests, the parish ushers or with any
parishioner.
FATHER HENRY SUMARO
Father Henry Sumaro paid us a surprise visit on Christmas and presided at
10:30 Mass. Many will remember that Father Sumaro helped at MHC from 1985-
88 while he was studying at The University of Dayton. Father Henry is now
back in Kenya at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Turbo. His address: Father
Henry Sumaro\\Our Lady of Lourdes Parish - Turbo\\PO Box 842\\Eldoret
Kenya. Remember that for safety any donations to the missions should be
sent through the Archdiocesan Mission Office\\100 East 8th
Street\\Cincinnati, OH 45202. Remember to tell the missions office who the
donation is for.
Bible Study
The Psalms, from a greek word meaning songs sung to a harplike instrument,
are prayers in a poetic form. Come pray, sing, and study the Psalms with
our Moms 'n Tots small group bible study beginning on Wednesday, January
14, 1998. We will gather in St. Francis Hall every Wednesday from 12:15
- 2:00 PM. Children are always welcome; babysitting is available. Using
the "Little Rock Scripture Study" we will cover 55, approximately one-
third, of the total book of Psalms. For more information call Denise
Wetzel at 878-3450.
School News
The School is continuing to make progress on the computer information
technology plan implemented this school year. Four additional Pentium
computer systems were added to the school computer lab over the Christmas
break, bringing the total to fourteen. In addition, the second round of in-
service instruction for teachers/staff will begin next week.
Reminder: The second tuition paymnet is due for those families on the
two payment plan.
In Appreciation
The family of Marie Benasutti wish to thank Father Joe, Anne Rusen, friends
& members of the parish for their sympathy, support, prayers, contributions
& food during this time of sorrow. We are deeply grateful.

BAPTISM OF THE LORD
1) Isaiah 42, 1-4, 6-7
2) Acts 10, 34-38
3) Luke 3, 15-16, 21-22
Baptism is the key. The baptism of the Lord opened the door on his
public ministry. Our own baptisms unlock the fellowship of the Church to
each of us and made us the stewards of the new creation in Christ. We also
begin our own public ministry in baptism. Gifts and talents which might
only have been used to build up ourselves in our sinfulness are now at the
service of all God's creation. Share in the ministry of Christ throughout
the year, and just as he shared in our humanity we may one day share in his
everlasting life.
Next Sunday's readings will be: 1)Isaiah 62, 1-5; 2)1 Corinthians
12, 12-30; 3)John 2, 1-12.
