WELLNESS MINISTRY

Something New AT MHC: Wellness Ministry!! What's that? Wellness Ministry is a project designed by one of our LPMP Students. ( Lay Pastoral Ministry Program Students In order to be certified in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Pastoral Ministry Program a student has to design, implement, and evaluate a project. We are pleased to have Pat Scanlon, a parishioner and a professional nurse, as one of our LPMP Students. Pat has researched and designed a Wellness Mninistry Project to share with us. This project is modeled after similar Wellness Ministry Programs offered in some of our larger Catholic Parishes. Locally, Pat will have the cooperation of hospitals and other resourceful agencies to assist her and "us". It is Pat's intention to offer blood pressure checks, other health screening; health and wellness information including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines; and referral to sources of help. All of the services will be confidential.
Pat will be in St. Francis Hall every Tuesday morning beginning in February from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. Please feel free to stop and visit her at that time. You can also contact her via the Pastoral Minister's office at 879-8803.

SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

1) Isaiah 62, 1-5
2) 1 Corinthians 12, 4-11
3) John 2, 1-12
"There are different gifts but the same Spirit."(2) One of the strengths of the Church is its catholicism. We have all kinds of people involved in our parish and throughout the world--the very old and the very young; the well educated and the simple, the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak. But in order for this very large and very catholic church to work all of our gifts are required. It is possible that in the world any one of us might "go it alone," but in eternity we need the unity of time, talent and treasure to bring God's kingdom to fullness.

Next Sunday's readings will be: 1)Nehemiah 8, 2-4. 5-6. 8-10; 2)1 Corinthians 12, 12-30; 3)Luke 1, 1-4; 4, 14-21.
