LEARN THE NEW CATECHISM
Trivia Question: The name "Christian" means: a) "God's child", b)
"anointed", or c) "apostle".
Do you really know all you want to know about the teachings of the
Catholic Church? A small group of parishioners gather on the 1st and 4th
Tuesdays of each month from 6:00-7:30 PM in St. Francis Hall to explore
various aspects of church teaching. We use The Catechism of the
Catholic Church as our resource. Deacon Max is a regular attendee, so he
also serves as a guide. Lessons are independent, so regular attendance is
not mandatory, and reading is minimal. We would welcome more questioning
people in our group.
For answer to today's trivia question, read paragraphs 1285-1321 in
the Catechism and/or join us this Tuesday, September 23rd in
St. Francis Hall for "Confirmation - Becoming a Courageous Catholic.
For information, or to obtain a guide book, call Molly Collinsworth, 879-3148.
You are cordially invited to "Celebrating Our Gifts" in honor of the
35th Anniversary of Cursillo in the Cincinnati Archdiocese, today,
September 21st, at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, Cincinnati. The Mass
will be at 2:00 PM, with Bishop Carl Moedell. Reception will be from 3:30-
5:30 PM in the Cathedral Undercroft.
Cursillo is a movement of the Church which helps people discover and
fulfill their personal vocations of continuing God's work on earth.
Through evangelization, the Church is built up into a community of faith.
Evangelization - making friends with others and then bringing them to
friendship with Christ - centers on Christian love and the desire to lead
others to the treasure of the life of grace. The Cursillo movement
provides a means to live a life of holiness, study, and formation and share
that life with others so together we can make our everyday environments
more Christian. The fundamentals of the Cursillo method are presented in a
three day learning, sharing, inspiring experience of living in a Christian
community.
