PARISH COMMISSIONS

Parish Commissions are established to study and implement the doctrine and documents of the Roman Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and the pastoral plans of the parish. Each commission has a specific area of concern: Communications, Community Affairs, Ecumenism, Education, Finance, Laity, Missions and Worship. The membership of each commission is composed of parishioners and others interested in the commission's specific area of concern. Each commission has an elected representative on Pastoral Council. The Ecumenism and Missions Commissions do not exist at MHC at present.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION

Works to improve the quality of communication within the parish, between the priests and the parish family, and among parish organizations. Responsible for public relations, news releases, Parish Newsletter, items for Catholic Telegraph, Parish Information & Organizations Booklet, and the Welcoming Committee. No regular meetings held; scheduled as needed.

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMISSION

Provides the leadership, encouragement, and opportunity for parish members to take part in sharing and reaching out to those in need through parish, community, national, and international programs. The commission focuses on socioeconomic needs and embraces programs that are Catholic, ecumenical and/or interracial. Meets 2nd Wed of the month, 7:30pm, East Room.

EDUCATION COMMISSION

Works with the pastor, under the Archdiocesan policies, to provide opportunity for all members of the parish to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith. This includes the School, Religious Education, and Adult Education programs. Meets 2nd Mon of the month, 7:30pm, Administration Room.

LAITY COMMISSION

Responsible for "networking" between all official organizations of the MHC community. Proposes programs for the improvement of the parish community. Meetings held in SFH.

WORSHIP COMMISSION

Responsible, with the pastor, for maintaining the quality of liturgical services. Schedules and/or plans special celebrations, programs, and studies to enhance the special seasons of the liturgical year. Reviews requests to include groups and/or activities in the weekend Masses. Oversees the liturgical ministries. Meets 3rd Mon ofthe month, 7:00pm, East Room.
