ST. LOUIS REVIEW
The St. Louis Review provides a unique opportunity for evangelization her in our
local church. Each week it reaches nearly 90,000 households bringing news of the
Church around the word and of the Church in our Archdiocese. The Review presents
you with the teaching of the Holy Father and the American Bishops. Through
Archbishops regular column "THE WORD BECAME FLESH" he shares our Catholic Faith
with us and comments on the life of the Church. Each year, at this time we ask
our people to RENEW their subscriptions to the St. Louis Review. The Archbishop
desire is that every Catholic household receive the Review. Please use your
envelope to renew your subscription. The price is on the envelope.
from the Pastor's Pen
Now that things are returning to "normal", if that's possible, I will be away
this week to see family members. A new visiting priest, Fr. Hyacinth, will be
leading some Masses for us. Fr. Hyacinth, a Nigerian priest, is a relative of
Fr. Basil, whom we saw a lot last year. Fr. Argent and I hope the holidays
brought you some real joys, and weren't simply too hectic or touched by
sickness. Christmas at its core is a feast of faith, which leaves us hungering
to follow Jesus in the Gospels into his adventure of Lent and Easter. Let's see
as time goes on if our faith actually grew this season.
KEEPING CHRISTMAS IN OUR HEARTS We here at Parish Help
know that Resurrection parishioners keep Christmas in their hearts throughout
the year. We are a unique organization, not merely because of our Christmas
efforts, but because we are able to help people all year long. This is through
the generosity of our parishioners in their envelope contributions and in the
red wagon in the back of church. As the extremely rough winter months of January
and February set in, we ask for your continued generosity and your prayers. We
know we wouldn't be here unless God wanted us to be here.
MAKING NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS? If you'd like to give a little of yourself
this year to help the less fortunate, give Parish Help (353-2388) a call Monday,
Wednesday or Friday to find out more about becoming a volunteer.
