RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS--SHARING OUR HOPE

In the weeks ahead, you will be reading more about an exciting new campaign taking place throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The campaign, RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS - SHARING OUR HOPE, is an exciting opportunity for all of us to address the most pressing needs of our Church. THE RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS CAMPAIGN seeks to raise a minimum of $55,000,000 from the generosity of Catholics in our Archdiocese. The proceeds of this visionary undertaking will be placed into funds which will provide us with the ability to meet needs in the areas of parish viability, Catholic Education, priests' retirement, seminary education and our Cathedral Basilica now and into the future. Each week, this space in Resurrection bulletin will be devoted to reminders and important announcements concerning RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS.

from the Pastor's Pen

Some interesting things are happening around our parish. If you have ever checked out our Web site on the internet, you will now see that Matt Kuppinger has connected our weekly bulletin for online viewing. Anyone who finds us there (and people do all the time) can now read each week's bulletin, automatically updated. We are getting a lot of interest in our school from people in the neighborhood, with some varied backgrounds. We've had conversations with them and tested some of the kids to see if they are a "fit" for our school. We could have some very enriching additions to the student body, as we will have with the faculty. Our bingo continues to be good for the parent community, as they contribute time to the parish and enjoy each other's company in the process while we keep trying to build our base of players. As you see elsewhere, this week begins an important part of our belonging to the St. Louis Archdiocese, the "Returning God's Gifts" campaign. Just as our own parish endowment is starting to provide us with some stable income in changing times, this Archdiocesan Endowment campaign drive is to address the financial stability of the whole St. Louis church.
FINALLY, it seems that our stone sign for the church lawn is near. The companies have now set this Tuesday, Aug. 12, as installation date. It will be an all-day job, so come around to have a look. We will even be serving hot dogs starting at 12 noon!
