In your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Michael Goydahusband of Ann, and Rose Eichlein mother of Eleanor Molitor. May their souls rest in peace.

PARISH RENEWAL RETREAT SIGN-UP begins today in the foyer. Or use the form in the last column. $8 registration fee asked.

As our Mother Church, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is important to our Archdiocese historically and symbolically. We all have a relationship to the Cathedral as the heart of our local Church. The Cathedral functions as a parish and as a place to hold archdiocesan celebrations and events such as ordinations, confirmations, pro-life Masses, youth events and scouting ceremonies. In addition, the Cathedral houses mosaics and other treasures viewed by thousands every year. Our gifts so far amount to: Number of Gifts & Pledges - $44,790.00
Parish Target - $82,676.00 - 54% of target raised.

"Cost-Benefit Analysis" is the way a company's officers judge the expenses they make-do they bring sufficient benefits to the company? We can look at our time the same way. It is precious to us, and what we spend it on had better be worth it. I can confidently say that you will judge a weekend spent on our Parish Renewal Retreat to give benefits far beyond the time given. That was the unanimous judgment of all on the April retreat, including myself. Ages 18 to 80 (or beyond) are welcome-single, married, widowed, divorced, well-known or not. Parents have covered for each other so one could be on a weekend. If you're unsure, talk to me or one of the earlier attendants. I'm sure we've all spent weekend in less productive ways. The benefits are worth it!

CAMPAIGN WORKERS MAKE CALLS

In accord with the Archbishop's directions, our parish is cooperating with the Returning God's Gifts endowment campaign for the archdiocese. Workers have cards to make calls on many of our people. These cards cannot be filled out at church; the workers must have a brief visit, or turn the card in as a refusal. Even if you do not participate, please treat your fellow parishioner with courtesy when you are asked for a visit. They represent the Archbishop.
