from the Pastor's Pen

Three days here brought a lot of activity. On Saturday I officiated at a wedding here of an Arnold family. Their friends and family from Jefferson County and South County, Catholic and non-Catholic, came and marvelled at our church. Sunday, the Second Sunday of Advent, we held the baptism of William and Donna Marie Cureton's two new infants, Katrina and Alicia, at the 11 o'clock Mass. It was good to experience what this meant to our community. And Monday and Tuesday, we celebrated the feast of Mary's conception, with the sacrament of Reconciliation afterward, plus confessions for the schoolchildren Tuesday morning. God is very active right now within our parish, and weaving our parish in with the lives of others. Let's hope this intensifies until we experience him both within our hearts and in our community at Christmas.
