Growth in the Faith

Celebration of the Eucharist

The Eucharist is central to our parish as a Faith Community. We come together on weekdays and on weekends to give thanks to God, to hear God's Word, and to receive the Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus. Because of the number of times the Mass is celebrated here, there is a need for people to assist in the various liturgical ministries.

R.C.I.A.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the way we bring people into the Church. It begins each September and runs through Pentecost. This activity brings one's journey to an Adult Faith in the Church and an Adult knowledge of the Catholic Church. Though primarily designed for those who desire entry into Catholicism, the R.C.I.A. journey will also enrich the Faith lives of those already Catholic.

BAPTISM

Parents are asked to attend sessions of preparation for Baptism prior to the celebration. Arrangements should be made with a priest well in advance of the anticipated Baptism. Adult and older-child Baptisms are handled on an individual basis through the parish priest and the R.C.I.A.

RECONCILIATION

Individual Confessions are available on Saturday afternoons from 3:00 - 3:50 P.M., Sunday morning from 7:30 - 7:50 A.M., and 10:00 - 10:20 A.M. Reconciliation is also available by appointment. Announcements of other celebrations of Reconciliation are made through the parish bulletin.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is offered to our 8th grade P.S.R. every year. It is celebrated in the Spring. Unconfirmed adults will prepare for Confirmation through the R.C.I.A.

MATRIMONY

Our Faith honors marriage as a true vocation, so we want to be sure to prepare for marriage before we prepare for the wedding. Interested couples should meet with a priest at least six months prior to plans being set. Following the consultations, engaged couples are offered a choice of programs to enrich their marriage preparation.

ANOINTING-OF THE SICK

This Sacrament brings Jesus' healing peace to the chronically ill, infirm, and aged members of our parish. Arrangements are made on an individual basis by calling the rectory. Celebration of the Mass with communal anointing takes place in the Spring, Fall and Winter.

PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION

In an effort to assist Catholic parents with the formal Catholic education for their children who attend public schools, we offer our P.S.R. Classes are held each Wednesday evening during the school year for students in grades 1 through 8. First Reconciliation is offered in the 2nd grade and First Holy Communion is offered in 3rd grade around Easter time. For more information, contact the rectory.
