The Children's Liturgy schedule will resume in September.
|
The Children's Liturgy of the Word is for children from Kindergarten
through Fourth Grade. Usually it is held the first three weeks of the month from the
middle of September through the first week in May. It is held in the Council Room during
the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday and the 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday After the opening prayer
the children are invited to come to the altar. Then the priest gives the children his
blessing and the Liturgy Leaders take them to the Council Room. The main goal of the
Children's Liturgy of the Word is to help the children who participate to grow closer to
God and His people. Therefore, we read and explain the Bible readings to them in words
they understand. We also pray, read, sing, act out stories, and engage in other activities
so that they will be able to use what they learn to follow in the footsteps of Jesus
Christ. After the Liturgy, the children return to Mass before the gifts are taken to the
altar.
