The Catechumens and Candidates will be celebrating the Penitential
Rites on March 18th, 25th and April 1st at
the 8:45 AM Mass. The Rite will take from ten to fifteen minutes; therefore
the Mass will be running a little late on these dates. Please plan accordingly.
2nd Sunday in Lent
Peter, James, and John wanted to build a “booth” for Jesus and just stay
on the mountain where His transfiguration took place. But the Son of God,
the Chosen One, knew that He must instead keep moving toward His Crucifixion.
We, too, must rise from worship and do what we can to hasten the coming

THE GIFT OF LIFE
Blood
is the gift of life and the need for it is critical. The amount of blood
that the blood center has scheduled to draw may not be enough to meet patients’
needs. Please donate to help prevent a shortage. On March 11, 2001, St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will hold a blood drive from 8:00 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. in halls A & B of the Family Life Center. Walk-ins are welcome
and appointments can be scheduled on March 4th after most Masses.

Lunar Party –Thursday, March 1st , the 5th
and 6th grade students will attend a Lunar Party at the Science
Resource Center.
7th
Field Trip – Last Friday,
our 7th grade students traveled to Washington on the Brazos and
to College Station to tour the Bush Library. While at the library, our students
were treated to a talk and autographs by Neil Bush, brother of our President
George W. Bush and son of former President George Bush.

Creek Assistance Ministry
finding
the lord of glory
In today’s Gospel account of the transfiguration (Lk
9:28b-36), Peter is so dazzled by our Lord’s transfiguration on the mountain
that he wants to prolong the whole thing indefinitely. Sometimes our Sunday
Eucharistic celebrations are mountaintop experiences where we’d like to
linger with Jesus and each other. However, the love of Christ impels us,
as it did Peter, to go down the mountain into the nitty-gritty of our lives.
There we find the Lord of Glory in our suffering brothers and sisters, and
there we’re given many opportunities to serve them through Bear Creek Assistance
Ministries. We can help in BCAM’s food pantry by bagging groceries or in
receiving by sorting donations. We can interview new clients and direct
them to the assistance they need. We can work in BCAM’s thrift store or
deliver food baskets to senior citizens with limited incomes. Whatever
our talents and gifts, we can find a way to use them at BCAM by calling
Sandra Stewart at 281-550-8949. As we have heard, so may we live the Word
of God, today and every day of our lives.
Open Parish Registration for VBS 2001
This year’s Vacation
Bible School (VBS) program, Jesus to the Rescue, will be held June
10 – 15. The open parish registration will be held on Saturday, March 31st
and Sunday, April 1st after all masses. VBS is offered to children
ages 3 years (as of June 1) through 5th grade. The cost is $15
per child and $35 for a family of 3 or more. Cost includes a T-Shirt.
If you would like
to teach or aide, chair a committee, help in the nursery, or assist in crafts
and decorations for this year's VBS program, please call Toni Bostwick at

Children’s Choir Begins
Preparing for Easter Mass
Children in 3rd grade and up are invited to join the Children’s
Choir and prepare to sing at the Children’s Easter Mass at 12:15 on Easter
Sunday. Practices will be as follows:

will now be selling Pictorial Directories for $4.00 to anyone who did not
get photographed. You can purchase these at the Parish office during our

FOOD
DRIVE
On the weekend of March 31
– April 1, SEAS will be collecting food for Casa Juan Diego, a Catholic
Worker in Houston that serves the needs of the economically poor and homeless,
particularly immigrants, abused women and children, the unemployed and physically
challenged. Paper bags with a list of their needs will be available at
the back of church on the weekend of March 24th and 25th.
Please pick up a bag and return it to the church the following weekend.

Are
you ready to start your spring-cleaning? The festival committee would like
to take your stuffed animals off your hands. You can drop them off at the
parish office.
Also
any books, plants, auction items, sponsor/underwriter checks and liters of
soda can be dropped off at the parish office as well.
Your
flea market finds may be dropped off at the trailer, which will be located
in the church parking lot throughout the month of April.
Please
do not drop off any flea market items until the trailer has arrived on
the church grounds.
COLLEGE
SCHOLARSHIPS
Knights of Columbus Council 8096 and the Ladies Auxiliary
are pleased to again be able to offer College Scholarships. We will be awarding
a total of 6 scholarships. (2 William Stillwaugh Memorial Scholarships, 2
John Zirkle Memorial Scholarships and 2 Ladies Auxiliary Scholarships). The
scholarships are for graduating high school seniors who are members of St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton and planning on attending college in the fall of 2001.
You may pick up an application and complete qualification requirements for
each scholarship in the parish office, or they may be downloaded from our
web site at www.kofc8096.org. Applications must be submitted by
April 15, 2001.
Living
Way of the Cross
Sixth grade students of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton are
invited to participate in a Living Way of the Cross to be presented to the
Parish on Good Friday, April 13, at 12:00 Noon and again at 1:00 pm and
to the Jr. High CCE classes on April 8th. Sixth graders will
be needed to serve as actors and readers.

Louise Brown, Associate Director of Religious Education
has given permission for students to miss 15 minutes of their CCE class

practice at 6:16 and go to CCE at 7:15.

The Beginning Experience Weekend
is designed to help men
and women who are widowed, separated or divorced, gently close the door on
their former marriage. Healing, transformation and the freedom to love again
can occur when one works through the grief process associated with the end

Los sueños dan alas
a los tontos," dice Sirácides 34:1. Mas los sueños aparecen en la Biblia
al comienzo y a menudo, sirven para advertir, indicar, alentar, y para apoyar
a los campeones de la historia de Dios. De la pesadilla de Abraham a la
visión de Pedro, Santiago Juan, y en la monte de la transfiguración, los
sueños han sido un medio de la revelación de Dios. Nosotros a veces quitamos
importancia al significado de sueños, pero los antepasados no tenian tal
duda. Junto con Abraham, algunos de los grandes soñadores del Antiguo Testamento
eran Jacob, José, Daniel, y el profeta Ezequiel. El punto fundamental del
evangelio de Mateo sobre siete sueños, incluye uno dado a la esposa de Poncio
Pilato (27:19), en el cual si Pilato hubiera prestadó atención a esto ,
lo hubiera prevenido de convertirse en el único "tipo malo" en
el Credo. La vida de Pedro cambió dramáticamente después de un sueño en

Las becas son para jóvenes que se van a graduar de preparatoria y son miembros

BAUTISMOS
Si desea bautizar a su hijo(a)s, llame a nuestra oficina

y padrinos deben asistir a dos charlas pre-bautismales que constan de 2 sesiones.
Fechas de las sesiones y bautismos los puede obtener llamando a nuestra oficina
parroquial .
Los padres deben estar registrados y ser miembros activos
de la Iglesia por lo menos dos meses antes del bautizo.

GRUPO DE APOYO PARA FAMILIAS
"Orientación de Vida Familiar" para
familias con problemas de violencia doméstica, abuso sexual, alcoholismo,
etc. Las entrevistas serán estrictamente confidenciales para dar apoyo y orientación
a nuestra comunidad y serán conducidas en español.
El
programa se llevará a cabo todos los jueves del mes en el salón #3, en el
Centro de Vida Familiar, de 7:00-9pm. La coordinadora del programa es la Sra.

En el evangelio de Hoy , en la transfiguración Pedro,
está maravillado con la transfiguración de la montaña, por lo que quiere prolongarla
indefinidamente. Algunas veces nuestras celebraciones dominicales eucarísticas
son como una experiencia en la montaña, donde queremos permanecer con Jesús
y uno al otro. Sin embargo, el amor de Cristo nos pide , como hizo con Pedro,
bajar de la montaña para adentranos en las arenas de nuestras vidas. Ahí
podemos encontrar al Señor de Gloria , en nuestros hermanos(as) que sufren,
y allí se nos dan muchas oportunidads de serviles a través de BCAM, asistiendo
en la despensa, o recibiendo o clasificando las donaciones. Nosotros podemos
donar nuestro tiempo, a los mas necesitados, en cualquiera de los programas

County, ofrece vacunas los primeros jueves de cada mes, en Heritage Presbyterian
Church, 7934 Hwy 6 N ; en 2 sesiones de 9:00-11 y 1:00-3:00pm. El costo es
de $15.- (solo efectivo) por persona, no importa la cantidad de vacunas dadas.
