Pastoral Care
Coordinating many volunteers who visit the sick in the hospital and at home, as well as training and sustaining the Stephen Ministers is Sr. Angie (524-2572). Programs include:
Stephen Ministry: A Stephen Minister is one who has received 50 hours of training in listening skills and care-giving. Often, once assigned to a receiver, the Stephen Minister becomes a supportive friend, keeping concerns and feelings confidential. They are there to help through times of crisis as well as other instances of need.
Prayer Pipeline: The members of the Prayer Pipeline are often, but not always, the house-bound of the parish. They are called each week and given a list of prayer intentions. One can become a part of the Prayer Pipeline, or have intentions included, by calling the Parish Center.
Bereavement Group: Adjusting to the death of a loved one is always painful. St. Peters provides support in many ways by counseling, sharing articles, having occasional retreats, and regular monthly meetings.
