It has long been known for its tradition of academic excellence with 90-95% of its graduates attending college each year. Many qualify for scholarships for their future education. In addition to a fine core curriculum, there is emphasis on Christian service as well as theology. Extra-curricular programs range from athletics to student council, various clubs and honor societies, drama, and music. One of the unique aspects of the high school curriculum is block scheduling which allows students to take courses (college style) that met for longer periods every other day. The classes, consequently, are taught more creatively with ample time for demonstration, student involvement, and participation as well as teacher presentation.
