Elected and appointed representatives
who assist the pastor in developing priorities and setting goals.

WORSHIP COMMISSION

Liturgy Committee
-
Meets regularly to assess the worship
needs of the parish and to assist in short and long-term planning.

Special Ministers of the Eucharist
-
Help distribute Communion at Mass.

Eucharistic Ministry to Shut-Ins
-
Special ministers bring Holy Communion
to parishioners challenged by confinement. Short prayer service using excerpts
from Sunday scripture readings accompanies receiving the Body of Christ.

Hospitality Ministers
-
Greet worshipers as they arrive, take
up collections, pass out bulletins and care for any needs that might occur.

Art & Environment Ministers
-
Decorate the church for seasons and
special days.

Sacristans
-
Assist in preparation for Mass and
clean-up afterward. Attend to other needs of the sacristy, such as
linens, vessels, vesture, candles, etc.

Lectors
-
Proclaim the Word of God at Mass.

Music Ministers
-
Lead the assembly in prayer through
music and songs as cantors and instrumentalists.

Altar Severs
-
Young people from the fourth grade
through high school who help prepare for Mass and assist during Mass.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION COMMISSION
-
Board of Education
-
A group of elected representatives
who advise the pastor, the principal, and the coordinator of the part-time
religious education program on matters relating to lifelong and total Catholic
education.

Parish Elementary School
-
Focuses on a sound academic and religious
formation program with a strong emphasis on fundamentals. Religion
classes are taught daily. Students attend Mass twice weekly. A tradition
of outstanding academic success integrated within a Christian atmosphere
in which Gospel values are taught and modeled.

Adult Education Committee
Plans religious educational opportunities
for parishioners.

Christian Initiation
-
Offers religious formation for adults
interested in the Catholic faith. Parishioners share their faith
with inquirers while catechists present basic beliefs and traditions of
Catholicism.

Part-Time School of Religion (PTSR)
-
A religious education program for students
not attending the parish elementary school fulltime. Classes are
held weekly for first through eighth graders.

Association of Parents & Teachers
(APT)
-
Recruits and organizes volunteers for
school programs and activities. Sponsors various fund-raising events
to benefit the school.

Ministry to Youth & Young Adults
(CYO)
-
Promotes outreach, support, programs
and activities for our young people and invites them to participate in
the life, mission and work of our parish.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE COMMISSION

Welcoming Committee

Greets new parishioners and encourages
their participation in parish organizations and activities.

Visitation Committee
-
Assists parishioners who are in need
of emotional or spiritual support through regular home visits.

Knights of Columbus
-
A fraternal organization that promotes
religious and charitable causes while also providing social activities
for its members.

Social Committee

Plans activities that promote fellowship
and build community among parishioners.

Men's Club
-
Operates weekly Bingo game and provides
financial support to both the school and parish.

Avila League
-
A group of women whose activities are
both social and service oriented.

Sponsors fund-raising events to provide
for the needs of the sacristy, funeral dinners, and outreach to the sick
and homebound.

ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION

Finance Committee

Parishioners who help develop budgets
for Parish Council projects and programs.

Buildings & Grounds Committee

Responsible for assessing the physical
condition of the parish buildings and grounds, and making recommendations
regarding building utilization and needs.

Stewardship Committee

Educates the parish about the concepts
of giving, and develops ways in which all parishioners are given an opportutunities
to share their time, talent and treasure to ensure the ongoing success
of our parish.

Heritage Committee
-
Responsible for long-range planning,
parish endowment, and ensuring that the legacy from the past and present
will bring us into the future.
