Have you said your Rosary today?

Epiphany Sunday

Today we celebrate the revelation of the Christ-child to the world and the very generous response of the three magi with their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh and their acts of adoration. We are challenged today to continue to take the Good News to our world. We must not keep the message to ourselves. God has loved us and we are to love one another.

NEW HANDICAPPED FACILITIES

We are pleased to announce that the men's and women's restrooms on the first floor are being made handicap accessible. New partitions will also be installed. This was made possible by a generous gift from one of the parishioners. We gratefully accept this donation in her memory and her desire to reach out to sometimes forgotten people: the handicapped. We hope that this will make Church services more accessible to many. I am sure the elderly will also find the additional grab bars to be of help. The project should be completed shortly. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

BAPTISMAL PREP PROGRAM

Parents wanting to have their baby baptized are required to attend a preparation class before having the baby baptized. They are given on the first Sunday of the Month at 7:00 pm in the rectory meeting room. Please call Deacon Allen Boedeker to make reservations for these classes (481-8968). They will be offered this evening, January 4th.

MILLENNIUM SERVICE

Archbishop Rigali invites all to attend the Solemn Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on January 11, 1998, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, at 7:30 pm at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Newstead & Lindell Blvd. This year of preparation for the Millennium will focus on the Holy Spirit and the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmandi and Sponsors are given a special invitation.

P. S. R.

Classes resume on Monday, January 5 at the regular time, 6:45 pm. Parents are reminded to have the children in the classrooms before 6:45 pm so that classes start on time. Your cooperation is appreciated.

HOME & SCHOOL BOARD

The meeting of the board is scheduled for 7:00 am on January 7 in the school cafeteria. All board members are reminded to be present.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVE WORKSHOP

January 8 at 7:00 pm will be the next installment on the Family Perspective Program. It will be a workshop on communication skills. Parents will learn skills for intergenerational communication. They will practice and listen to demonstrations on how to listen and respond better to teenagers, spouses and young children. This is an interactive workshop. You will learn and practice techniques for better listening and responding. Baby-sitting is provided.

Coming Soon

Watch the mail - your Lucky Six tickets are about to arrive! It is very important that ALL Parish Families be a part of it. Sell all your tickets and you have two opportunities for the special "Sweetheart Drawing"-just for the sellers. A total of $1,500 in 5 prize awards for our special "Sweetheart Drawing" on February 28th. With all families participating, we can make this parish fund raiser a huge success. Remember - "Sell 8 in `98".

Board of Education

The Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, January 6th at 7 pm in the rectory meeting room.

Children's Liturgy

This program will resume next Sunday, January 11 at the 9:30 am mass. It is a great way for children 6 years old to 6th grade to get more out of the mass. Bring your children next Sunday and have them experience real joy in praying at Church.

DOORWAYS COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND

DOORWAY'S provides housing for persons living with HIV or AIDS. Every other month we collect household items and paper products for their use. The items especially needed are: alcohol, soap, bleach, dishwashing liquid, peroxide, laundry detergent, light bulbs, lysol, trash bags. If you can help or add to our collection for DOORWAY'S, please bring your items to the doors of church where the containers can be found. Thank you for your generosity.
