In Our Parish
DIOCESAN EVALUATION
- As part of the Strategic
Plan of the diocese every parish has been asked to
evaluate its performance and future planning goals.
Parishioners are to be surveyed at every mass this
weekend, using a form developed by the diocese.
Representatives from the Parish Council, Finance
Committee, Board of Education, the School Principal,
DRE, Priests and one member at large will also fill out
an evaluation. The purpose of these evaluations is to
plan for the consolidation, expansion, closing or
cooperation of parishes for the future. We ask for
your cooperation on this evaluation. Results will be
communicated to you when they are returned to us.
TEACHERS UNION UPDATE
- The Catholic School
Teachers have decided to file a law suit against the
Archdiocese protesting the lack of cooperation on the
Archdioceses part to allow teachers who join the union
to collectively bargain with the Archdiocese on behalf
of their membership. ACE is now claiming that it
represents over 50% of the teachers in the Archdiocesan
elementary schools. The Archbishop is proceeding with
his plan to form a new partnership with the teachers
and the Archdiocese. It is hoped that all the issues
will be addressed in a just and respectful way by all
parties. Parishioners are encouraged to write to the
Archbishop and the Teachers Union to make their
opinions known.
PARISH COUNCIL INSTALLATION
- We congratulate
the new members of the Parish Council who will be
commissioned at the 9:30 am mass today. We look
forward to the direction that will be set for the
parish in light of the Strategic Plan set by the
Archbishop. As these evaluations are made and plans
are set, we will be communicating this vision to the
parishioners through the News & Views and to parish
organizations via the liaisons of the Council.
SCOUT SUNDAY
- Today is Boy Scout Sunday.
Members of our parish Scout Troop will be honored at
the 11:00 am mass with the "Light of Christ" Award and
the "Parvuli Dei" Award. We congratulate these scouts
and their leaders on a job well done. These are
religious awards given to the scouts for an intense
program of study and practice.

endorse their activities.

this year. We would like to honor you at 11:00 am mass
on February 15 and invite you and your immediate family

our local Church, we remember them in our prayers and
intercede for an increase of vocations to consecrated
life. We especially ask for your prayers for Sr. Rose,
our parish DRE, who gives such outstanding witness to
Christ through her ministry here at MPB. May God
