Palm Sunday

Today begins the Holiest Week of the year for us as Catholic Christians. The time that we remember the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As these events are re-presented to us through the liturgies, it is our hope that your spiritual lives will be renewed and God's life giving power will be experienced. Please take the branches of palm home with you as a reminder. As we come to the end of Lent, be sure your Lenten practices continue to the end.

Holy Week Schedule

All services on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday will begin at 7:00 pm. We will also have Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at 12:00 noon. There will be a 6:30 & 8:00 am mass on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings of the Holy Week. It you haven't had time to pray this Lent, don't let this special week go by without taking advantage of the opportunities offered. The Church will remain open on Holy Thursday evening until 11 pm for private prayer and reflection.

FAST & ABSTINENCE

Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence for all Catholics. Those between the age of 21 & 59 are obliged to fast. No eating in-between meals and only 1 full meal on that day with 2 lighter meals allowed. Those over the age of 14 are obliged to abstain from meat. No one is to lightly excuse themselves.

Confession

There will be added times for confession on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 7:45 pm or until all confessions are heard. We will also have confessions on Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 to 3:45 pm or until all are heard. Please note there are no confessions during the Tridium
(Thursday/Friday/Saturday).

Easter Sunday

Please feel free to invite your family and friends to join us for the celebration of Easter. Mass will be at 7:00 pm on Holy Saturday evening. This is the time when new members will join our Church. A reception in their honor will follow. Everyone is invited to attend. Easter Sunday, the masses will be at 8:00, 9:30 & 11:00 am. Please note there is no 5 pm mass on Holy Saturday. Balloons will be passed out after all the masses on Easter Sunday to small children. Please help the children secure the balloons to take home.

Fish Fry

Good Friday will be our last Fish Fry for Lent. This is a major fund raising event for the whole parish. Bring your family and friends here or take dinner home. Serving time 4 - 7 pm. Cakes are needed and can be brought Thursday from 2:30 to 7 pm. Set-up on Thursday at 6 pm and Friday at 3:15 pm. Thank you for your support, it has been tremendous.

CHURCH DECORATING

We will decorate the Church on Good Friday evening after the 7 pm service in preparation for Easter. Help is needed. Any men or women who could give us a hand, the help would be welcomed.

LENTEN FOLDERS

At the end of Lent, families are asked to return their Lenten folders to Church by placing them in the special baskets at the exits of Church, or by putting them in the collection basket on Sunday. Proceeds from the collection will be given to the Parish Immigration Program. This will be seed money to get this program started. Social Justice has been claimed as one of the priorities from the Parish Council for this year. We ask for God's blessings on these projects as steps are taken to initiate efforts.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

Good Friday collection will be for the Holy Land. Offerings to this help maintain the shrines in the Holy Land. There is a special envelope in your packet. Easter Sunday's special collection is for Regina Cleri, the retirement home for priests. Please remember the many men who served you in parishes over the past decades by making their retirement years comfortable. A separate envelope is also in your packet.

BOARD OF EDUCATION NOMINATIONS

Elections will be coming up shortly. Anyone wishing to nominate themselves to run as a candidate in the election for the Board is asked to submit their name by calling the rectory (487-6456) or Paulette Crawford (487-4216).
