Easter Sunday

This is the most important feast in our Christian Tradition. Today we celebrate the power of God over all life: past, present & future. We celebrate the inbreaking of God's kingdom into our world by giving us the power to deal with evil and even the alternate question of death. We have found new life through the power of God. We believe in the Resurrection. We are a resurrection people. Evil will not win!

Welcome to our celebrations this weekend as we proclaim this Good News to the world. We hope that our visitors will enjoy our time together and anyone wishing to join us for future services will be most welcome.

EASTER THANKS

We are very grateful to many members of the parish who donated money to help us defray the expenses of the Easter decorations. A list of donors is included in the separate bulletin inserted in todays' bulletin. We also want to thank the many people who worked so hard to plan and implement the Holy Week Ceremonies. Special thanks to the Liturgy Committee, the Choir and musicians, all the ministers at the altar, the crew who helped clean church and all who helped decorate. And a special word of thanks to the Youth Group and their leaders for conducting another successful Easter Egg Hunt.

REGINA CLERI

On Easter Sunday it is a custom in the diocese to have a collection for Regina Cleri, the home for retired priests of the Archdiocese. There is a separate envelope for this in your packet. As more and more priests are now reaching retirement age, we depend on your generosity to take care of them in their old age. Please respond. They were very generous to us. Don't forget them.

NEW MEMBERS

On Holy Saturday night our community welcomed 7 new members to our congregation. Steve Friend and James Williams were baptized into new life. Margaret Grindler, Kari Messmann, Bonnie Branca, Michel Vurro & Myrna Capkovic were received into the Church from another Christian Tradition. We are very proud to have them as members of our community. A special word of thanks goes to the RCIA Team and parish sponsors and personal sponsors who walked with these individuals on their journey of faith. May God who began this good work in you bring it to fulfillment.

Mass Schedule Changes

Fr. Ryan will be on retreat this week so we will not have the 6:30 am mass this week. Starting April 7 we will go back to the regular schedule for weekday masses. There will be a 6:30 am mass on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and the 8:00 am mass everyday Monday through Saturday.

COLLECTION FOR ABUSED SHELTER

Next weekend we will again be collecting baby items for the St. Louis Abused Women's Shelter. They especially need diapers. Thank you for your generosity.

Welcome New Parishioners

Twice a year we have a formal Welcoming Brunch to welcome new families to our parish and have them meet the parish leadership. The next brunch is April 6 after the 11:00 am mass. It will take place in the cafeteria. If you are new to the area, please call the rectory and register. We would like to include you in this event.

Lent Fish Fry

On three Friday's during Lent we have sponsored fish fries as fund raisers for the parish. A vote of thanks goes to Guy Gaskell and Bruce Boughman for coordinating these events. And thanks too to the many who donated desserts, worked in many capacities on the days themselves or helped to set-up and/or clean-up. Thanks too to all those who came. They were a tremendous success. A financial accounting of profits will be published later.
