Archdiocesan Development Appeal
Stephanie Welling will speak at all the masses on April
12/13 on behalf of the Archdiocesan Development Appeal
for this year. Once again we will have the cards
available in the classrooms for early pledges on April
19/20 and April 26/27. Please take time to stop by one
of the classrooms and make your pledge. This Fund
meets so many needs of so many people throughout the
Archdiocese. It is one way to know that your charity
dollar will really get to people who need it.
CALENDAR NIGHT
All organizations and committees are again reminded of
calendar night, April 24 at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.
We need to coordinate the use of parish facilities.
Any group wanting to use parish facilities is asked to
be there. We will not guarantee use of space without
first signing up.
Parish Council
Please note that the parish council meeting date has
been changed from April 9 to April 21 at 7:00 pm in the
Rectory meeting Room. All Liasons are asked to have
reports from their respective organizations ready -
especially reactions to the goal setting agenda.
WELCOMING BRUNCH
We welcome all the new parishioners to our parish
family today. A welcoming brunch is planned in the
cafeteria after the 11:00 am mass. The leadership from
the major parish organizations will be on hand to
welcome you. We hope you are enjoying your new parish.
Any new families, who have not registered as of yet,
are asked to give the rectory a call. We will be glad
to invite you to the next Welcoming Brunch.
PRIEST DEANERY MEETING
Most Precious Blood will be hosting the meeting for all
priests and deacons from the Southeast County Deanery
on Monday, April 7. They will be meeting in the
cafeteria from 3:45 to 6:15 pm. Please make them feel
welcome, if your paths should cross.
ECUMENICAL PLANNING
Lent is over for this year and we are already making
plans for next year. The Holy Father has asked all
Christians to pray and study the issues of Christian
Church Unity during 1998 as a means of preparing for
the Millennium. All the Pastors and Associates from
the Christian Churches on Union Road will be meeting
here at MPB rectory on Wednesday to discuss future
plans for Lent of 1998. Please make our guests feel
welcome.
PSR REGISTRATION
Registration for the PSR students for the 1997-1998
school year will take place on Monday, April 21st from
6:30 to 8:00 pm in the cafeteria. Parents registering
a child for the first grade should bring a copy of the
child's baptismal certificate.
COLLECTION FOR ABUSED SHELTER
This weekend we are collecting baby items for the St.
Louis Abused Women's Shelter. They especially need
diapers. Your generosity is appreciated.
NATIONAL DAY OF APPRECIATION FOR PASTORS
Sunday, April 20th is the feast of the Good Shepherd.
On this day all members of our parish are encouraged to
take a moment to express their gratitude to the pastor
for his role in being the Good Shepherd of MPB parish
family. We will honor Father Ryan during the 9:30 mass
on April 20th followed by a reception in the cafeteria.
The children from the school and PSR will make some
presentations of their expression of gratitude to
Father. We encourage anyone who would like to send a
card or letter to Fr. Ryan on this occasion to do so.
The messages can be sent directly to him, or they could
be placed in the collection basket or dropped off in
the school office. Please plan to join other members
of our parish on Sunday, April 20th.
CATHOLIC SINGLES FAIR
The first annual Catholic Singles Fair will be held
Sunday, April 13, at 6:30 pm at St. Louis Cathedral.
Mass, followed by opportunities to obtain information
from various single organizations at their booths and
exhibits displayed in Cathedral gym. Single, divorced,
widowed, program displays for all groups.
