Mass Schedule Changes
Because Msgr. Forst will be away next week we will not
have the 6:30 am mass.
Archdiocesan Development Appeal
We welcome Stephanie Welling from the Catholic
Education Office to our parish this weekend. She will
speak to us about the efforts of the ADA Campaign and
solicit your support. This year ADA Sunday is May 4.
We ask ALL parishioners to take advantage of the
opportunity to make their pledges or contributions as
you leave church after all masses the next two
weekends, April 19/20 & 26/27. There will be 3
classrooms across the hall from Church available for
this purpose. If your employer matches gifts bring an
application blank along with you. If in doubt a list
of such companies will be on the bulletin boards at the
church entrances. For your convenience, you can use a
credit card for your contribution. Only you and the
Lord knows how much you can afford to give. "Whatsoever
you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me."
If everyone would take the opportunity to sign up
early, it would reduce the number of volunteers needed
to make home calls. Volunteers will be asked to make 5
calls on ADA Sunday,May 4. Please call Lew Brennecke
892-3986, if you can help make calls.
CALENDAR NIGHT
All organizations and committees are again reminded of
calendar night, April 24 at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.
We need to coordinate the use of parish facilities.
Any group wanting to use parish facilities is asked to
be there. We will not guarantee use of space without
first signing up.
TIME & TALENT CATALOGUE
Please pick up your new copy of the Time & Talent
Catalogue as you leave mass this weekend. It lists all
the new families as well as the "old" families. We are
very appreciative of the advertisers who make this
publication available. Be sure to say thanks to them,
if you do business with that concern. We hope the
information on the parish history and organizations
will keep you abreast of what services are offered and
how you might get involved. Let us know if we can be
of any assistance.
NEW AMBRY
We are very appreciative of the donations from the
Kroener and Wobbe families who made the purchase of new
oil stocks and the ambry display case possible. It is
a beautiful tribute to the memories of their parents.
We also thank Mr. Fred Bonk from our parish for
hand-making the ambry. It will touch many lives for
generations to come as our loved ones are consecrated
and anointed in the Lord.
PSR REGISTRATION
Registration for the PSR students for the 1997-1998
school year will take place on Monday, April 21st from
6:30 to 8:00 pm in the cafeteria. Parents registering
a child for the first grade should bring a copy of the
child's baptismal certificate.

NATIONAL DAY OF APPRECIATION FOR PASTORS
Sunday, April 20th we will celebrate the goodness of
Fr. Ryan during the 9:30 am mass. This is Good
Shepherd Sunday and we invite all members of the Parish
and school community to take time to express their
gratitude to our pastor for his role in being the Good
Shepherd for our faith community. We also invite all
members of the parish and school community to send a
letter or card of appreciation to Fr. Ryan sometime in
the next two weeks. Letters can be mailed to the
rectory, dropped off at school, or placed in the
collection basket. There will be a reception after the
9:30 am mass in the cafeteria. Please join us.
CATHOLIC SINGLES FAIR
The first annual Catholic Singles Fair will be held
Today, April 13, at 6:30 pm at St. Louis Cathedral.
Mass, followed by opportunities to obtain information
from various single organizations will be there.
Booths, displays and opportunities to meet people are
part of the planned agenda. Single, divorced, and
widowed programs will all have displays.
QUOTE FROM THE CHURCH'S SOCIAL TEACHINGS
In traditionally Christian states at the present time,
civil institutions evidence a high degree of scientific
and technical progress and possess abundant machinery
for the attainment of every kind of objective. And yet
it must be owned that these institutions are often but
slightly affected by Christian motives and a Christian
spirit. Pacem in Terris #151
NOMINATIONS NEEDED
Parishioners concerned about our Parish School, School
of Religion and Adult Faith Development Programs are
asked to nominate themselves for elections to the
Parish Board of Education. Please consider serving
your community in this most important ministry. It is
one of the parishes top priorities. We need people to
serve on the board. Please call the rectory or
Paulette Crawford (487-4216) for more information or to
submit your name in nomination.
PARENTS OF FIRST COMMUNICANTS
There will be a practice for First Communion on
Saturday, April 19 at 10:00 am in Church. All parents
and students from the Parish School and School of
Religion are asked to be present. This is the only
practice. We need your cooperation. Please be sure to
be there.
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS DRIVE
The Girl Scout Troops of MPB are asking all
parishioners to donate to the annual Personal Care
Item Drive, named "April Showers". Please bring one
or two items next weekend and place them in the
container outside of Church. Suggestions of items
would be toothpaste, shampoo, deodorants, baby diapers.
This will help supply our area Food Pantry and
Self-Help Centers. The Girl Scouts appreciate your
thoughtfulness for the less fortunate.
