Missionary Cooperation Plan
Each year the diocese assigns each parish a specific
request from the mission field. This year we will have
the Camboni Missionaries. Their main work is with the
poor in Africa, Europe, Americas and Asia. Our speaker
will be Fr. Paul Ewers, a native of Cincinnati who has
just returned after 18 years of service in Ecuador.
There he devoted himself to pastoral work and the
formation of Christian leaders among the Cayapa Indians
and Afro-ecuadorian population that live along the
rivers of Ecuador. There will be a second collection
for this purpose. Please be generous.
Pentecost
Today we celebrate the birthday of the Church. It is
the day that the Spirit moved the apostles to take the
message to the world. As a symbol of our need to
follow in this tradition, we have taken the Easter
decorations outside the Church "into the world". We
hope this will be a reminder to all of us to take the
message to all we meet at work, school, and in our
neighborhoods. May the Spirit of God convert our lives
as it did the apostles on the first Pentecost.
RCIA REUNION
We welcome back all of the persons who were part of the
RCIA for the past 6 years. They will be attending the
11:00 am mass today and joining us for a luncheon in
the cafeteria. We pray that God will continue to bless
our parish family with new members.
CONGRATULATIONS MS. BURGOON
Our school principal, Roseanne Burgoon, will be
receiving her doctorate in educational administration
from St. Louis University this June. We would like to
honor her with a special celebration on June 1st at the
9:30 am mass and follow this with a breakfast reception
in the school cafeteria. All the school children,
their parents and parishioners are invited to join us
for this celebration. This will be a special honor for
our school to have an administrator with a doctorate to
head our programs. The subject of Ms. Burgoon's
dissertation is: components necessary for staff
development to use the inclusion method for gifted and
at-risk kids.
DIACONATE BANNS
Mr. Allen Boedeker of our parish has been in training
for the past three years and has petitioned to be
ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. If
anyone knows of any reason why this ordination should
not take place, please come forward and state your
reasons. Contact the rectory or the diaconate office
(961-4320 ext. 401). This announcement of Banns is
required by Canon Law and must be published for two
weeks. This is the second and final publication of
banns.
NEWS & VIEWS
Each quarter we publish a parish newsletter updating
parishioners on parish events, programs and processes.
We hope that this spring/summer issue will be of
interest to you. Be sure to take time and read about
what is going on.
School Picnic
Friday, May 23 will be the School Picnic Day at Sylvan
Springs Park. We will begin the day with mass at 8:00
am followed by a Parade at 9:00 am through the
Bellewood Subdivision. Parishioners are invited to
come and cheer the students. The band this year will
be musicians from our own student body. This will be a
first for them.
Advanced ride tickets will be available after all
masses this weekend. Tickets are also available
through Mrs. Kreuzkamp's beginning May 21. Advance
price $8.00.
Archway amusements has requested MPB to make the
following disclaimers to avoid any un-necessary

refuse a ride to anyone who is intoxicated, pregnant or
