Trinity Sunday

Today's feast day is in honor of the Blessed Trinity. Our belief in the Father, Son & Holy Spirit is at the heart of our faith tradition. Each time we sign ourselves with the cross we remember the salvific work of the Trinity in our lives. Let us prayerfully remember the power of the Trinity at work in each of us as we worship this weekend and praise God for the gift of grace/God's presence operative in our world.

Missionary Cooperation Plan

There will be a second collection today for the Camboni Missionaries. Fr. Paul Ewers will be speaking at all the masses. We welcome him to our parish. Fr. Ewers is a native of Cincinnati and has just returned from 18 years of service in Ecuador. There he devoted himself to pastoral work and formation of Christian leaders among the Cayapa Indians & Afro-ecuadorian population that live along the rivers of Ecuador. Separate envelopes are available at the doors of Church today. Please be generous.

DIACONATE CELEBRATION

Mr. Allen Boedeker of our parish family will be ordained to the diaconate on June 7 at the St. Louis Cathedral. He will be assigned to our parish and will begin ministering to the people of Most Precious Blood immediately. We will have a welcoming mass for him on Sunday, June 8, at 11:00 and then a reception to welcome him to the parish in the cafeteria immediately afterward. Please make him feel welcome. Join us for the reception.

CONGRATULATIONS MS. BURGOON

Our principal, Roseanne Burgoon, will receive her doctorate in educational administration from St. Louis University. We will honor her at a special ceremony at the 9:30 am mass Sunday, June 1, and follow this by a reception in the cafeteria. All the school children and their parents and parishioners are invited to join us for this celebration. This will be a special honor for our school to have an administrator with a doctorate to head our programs.

SCHOOL PICNIC

Many hours of planning go into the school picnic and parade. We want to acknowledge Mrs. McSpadden and Mrs. Crawford who put in many hours to make things work. We also thank the room mothers, the new school band and the many parishioners who helped to make all this possible.

EIGHTH GRADE GRADUATION

Students from our parish school will graduate on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 pm. We congratulate them and their parents on this happy occasion. It has taken many years of work and sacrifice to reach this point. We pray that this marker event will be a real memory for the students as they say good-bye to many friends and open themselves up to God's continued blessings and guidance in the future. Be sure to keep them in your prayers. We say a special word of thanks to all the teachers who had a hand in the formation & instruction of these students. They are our hope for the future.

Memorial Day

We remember all the men and women who died for our country on Memorial Day, May 26. Mass will be offered at 9:00 am. Please note this time change. We hope that many families will come and join us for a spiritual beginning of the day as we remember those who lost their lives so our freedoms could be secured. May God bring them to the joys of the kingdom.

QUOTE FROM THE CHURCH'S SOCIAL TEACHINGS

The divinity of the human person involves the right to take an active part in public affairs & to contribute to the common good of the citizens. As Pius XII pointed out: "The human individual, far from being an object, a merely passive element in the social order, is in fact...its subject, its foundation & its end.
