Corpus Christi
We as a people have made a new covenant with God to do
His will and God has promised to be with us in and
through Christ. It is this real presence among us that
we celebrate today. We are made one with Christ and
God in the Eucharist. As we commemorate this feast,
let us not forget our part in making God present. We
are part of the Body of Christ, too.
Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital
There will be a second collection today for Cardinal
Glennon Hospital. This hospital no longer belongs to
the diocese but the needs of the children have not
stopped. The Sisters of Mercy have purchased the
hospital and need our help to continue the work.
Please be generous to the little ones.
MS. BURGOON CELEBRATION
Our parish school principal, Ms. Roseanne Burgoon will
be honored at the 9:30 am mass today. She has
completed her doctoral work in educational
administration and her dissertation is now accepted.
We congratulate her and are proud of her
accomplishment. Please join her family, the parish and
student body at the reception to follow in the
cafeteria.
DIACONATE ASSIGNMENT
Mr. Allen Boedeker from our parish will be ordained on
June 7 at the St. Louis Cathedral and will assist at a
mass of thanksgiving on June 8 at MPB at 11:00 am. We
will formally welcome him to the parish staff at a
reception after the 11:00 am mass on June 8. Please
join us and welcome Mr. Boedeker.
BOARD OF EDUCATION
The regular monthly meeting has been canceled for the
month. Please make a note of this change.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
Friday, June 6, will be the last day of school for MPB
students. The closing mass will be at 8:00 am.
Parents are invited to join the children as we pray for
a safe and relaxing summer. We wish them the best.
LEAVING EARLY
It is becoming more and more of a problem to see so
many leave mass early. This is not respectful of the
liturgy and certainly not respectful of the Lord's
presence. To eat and run may be something you do at
McDonalds but God deserves better. Please correct this
behavior.

QUOTE FROM THE CHURCH'S SOCIAL TEACHINGS
...it belongs to the laity, without waiting passively
for orders and directives, to take the initiative
freely and to infuse a Christian spirit into the
mentality, customs, laws and structures of their
communities. Populorum Progressio #381
PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS ONGOING SERVICE
The students from Grade 6 of the day school and Grade 5
PSR have been making monthly visits to Green Park
Resident Center. They've shared in activities such as
bingo, beach ball, washers, and parties. They've
shared conversation and earned mutual respect. The
residents have always appreciated the kindness and
respect of the MPB students. Green Park Resident
Center gave the students a barbecue to say "thank you"
in May. They all enjoyed the great time, great
weather, and great food together. The "generation gap"
is decreasing due to open communication and shared
respect for one another.
We thank Mrs. Kathy Harangozo who teaches the
sixth grade in our school and the fifth grade students
in PSR. She goes to Green Park with her students every
year. Some of the students continue visiting the
nursing home during the summer.
