Father's Day
Congratulations to all the men in our parish who are
life-givers to our families. Your sponsorship of faith
and life have enabled us to experience God's presence
in our midst. You are in our prayers and hopes for the
future. May God who has begun this good work in you
bring it to fulfillment.
Vacation Time
Summer is a good time to relax and re-create yourself.
It is a good time to regain perspective and to see
things more clearly. Please don't take a vacation from
God. Keep him as part of your "summer schedule" so
that your new perspective taking will be filled with
meaning and not just "snap-shots" of soon to be
forgotten events.
SCHOOL TUITION
Parents of students in the parish school are reminded
that tuition payments for the 1996-97 school year runs
from July 1 of one year to June 30 of the next year.
Report cards and or transcripts to high schools will
not be sent out until the balance of the account is
cleared. If there is any question as to the amount
that still remains on your balance, please contact the
rectory.
In Appreciation
Thank you to the Eighth Grade Class for their gift to
the school. The tape/stereo system will be a welcome
addition to the music program. We also appreciate the
$25.00 check to the parish fund. Thanks, also, for all
the wishes to Fr. Ryan and for the flowers on his
birthday. They were much appreciated.
LEAVING MASS EARLY
This is a repeat of a previous announcement. Please do
not leave mass early. It is very disrespectful to the
religious nature of our ceremony to have people "eat
and run." The Lord deserves a few moments of our time
in prayers of thanksgiving after you receive communion.
Please do not let cultural behaviors determine our
religious behaviors.
50+ Club
Installation Dinner & Meeting - June 23rd at 6:30
pm. Reservations due by June 18. Cost $6.00 per
person. Call Alice at 544-4219 or Shirley at 544-4849.
QUOTE FROM THE CHURCH'S SOCIAL TEACHINGS
Legislation should be directed to protecting women,
recognizing their independence as persons, and their
equal rights to participate in cultural, social and
political life. Octogesima Adveniens #13
Thanks
A heartfelt thanks to all of you for your prayers and
best wishes on the occasion of my ordination to the
permanent diaconate. I am looking forward to a long
period of service with Most Precious Blood parish.
Please continue to pray for me as I will most assuredly
be remembering all of you each day. Allen Boedeker
GRASSO SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
We will present the Grasso Scholarships at the 11:00 am
mass today to Kristin Berardi and Thomas Chibnall.
These two students were among the nominees of the
selection committee here at MPB, and were then chosen
as the recipients by the Director of Secondary
Education for the Archdiocese. Both students have
demonstrated exemplary catholic values, and will
represent our parish well in the Catholic High Schools
of their choice. The Grasso Scholarship is named in
honor of Tony Grasso, Sr., a deceased member of our
parish who took a real interest in our youth and their
future.
BABY-SITTING LIST
The rectory is often called for a list of adult
baby-sitters who sit in their homes. We would like to
up-date the list. Please call the rectory between 8:30
and 4:30 to add or remove your name. 487-6456
