School News
Beginning July 1 of each year we start the payments for
the 1997-98 school year. Parents have asked us to base
the tuition rate on a 52 week basis. Therefore the
payments will begin this week for the 1997-98 school
year. Please send your tuition payments in a
separate envelope to the rectory or drop it in the
collection basket. Do not put it in your regular
Sunday offertory envelope. State law requires that
we keep all tuition funds separate from Church
offerings. We appreciate your cooperation in this
regard.
Tuition Assistance
Any family needing financial assistance for the 1997-98
school year is asked to contact the rectory for
financial aid application forms. No previous
agreements carry over from last year. We are
required to review these requests annually. Please
file these requests immediately.
School Registration
School Registration for grades Kindergarten through 8th
grade are being taken. Call Dr. Burgoon at 892-5349.
QUOTE FROM THE CHURCH'S SOCIAL TEACHINGS
Positive signs in the contemporary world are the
growing awareness of the solidarity of the poor among
themselves, their efforts to support one another and
their public demonstrations on the social scene which,
without recourse to violence, present their own needs
and rights in the face of the inefficiency or
corruption of the public authorities. By virtue of her
own evangelical duty, the church feels allied to take
her stand beside the poor, to discern the justice of
their requests and to help satisfy them without losing
sight of the good of groups in the context of the
common good.
Young Adult Catholics
I've Grown Up - Why Hasn't the Rest of My

CATHOLIC HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
- to host
Catholic students from Spain who wish to study in
Catholic schools during 1997-98 school year. Students
are between 15 & 17 years of age. They come from
middle-class families, are well educated, and speak
English. They have medical/accidental insurance and
their own spending money. Host families only need to
provide room and board, and plenty of love. We will
pay the full tuition at the school. This is a fun and
easy way to get to know another culture. The
requirements are minimal -- the rewards are great! We
still have a good number of students to place. Please
consider hosting one of them? Contact Alicia
Wittenhauer at 878-7213 or Spanish Heritage at (800)
669-0589.
