RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS

The campaign is well underway in our parish and today I have some encouraging news about which I think we should all be very excited. As of this week our visitors have covered 49 parish households and have received gifts and pledges totaling $62,500.00. A number of parishioners are still considering and praying about their pledges and we hope to hear from them soon. This outstanding beginning gives us much needed confidence as we expand our efforts to provide all of our parishioners with the opportunity to participate in Returning God's Gifts.
While early success is most encouraging, there remains much to do. Other parishes currently participating in the Archdiocesan campaign have reported positive results and the overall reaction to the Archdiocese's plan to provide for the financial future of the Church has been excellent. We can still use the help of any parishioners who are interested in joining our group of visitors. All are welcome to attend our next meeting which is Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30 pm in the school cafeteria.

CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Each year at Thanksgiving time the American Catholic Church takes up a collection for self-help program in our own Country. These outstanding programs are funded all over our country to "break the hellish circle of poverty." Please be as generous as you can. There is a separate envelope for this in your packet and a flyer in today's bulletin concerning the program. Please read it.

RITE OF ACCEPTANCE

Each year we welcome new members to our community at the Rite of Acceptance. This year 5 persons have petitioned to join us in our walk of faith. We will welcome them to this journey at the 9:30 am mass on Sunday November 23. Their sponsors will present them and ask for our continued support as they journey toward the Rites of Easter Saturday with baptism or full acceptance into the Catholic Church.

CONFIRMATION ENROLLMENT MASS

Next Sunday at the 11:00 am mass students from our parish school and school of religion will have the Enrollment mass for the sacrament of Confirmation. The formation process will culminate at the Confirmation ceremony on May 9 at the St. Louis Cathedral. Be sure to keep these students, their sponsors and our catechists in your prayer. Today more than ever, we need clear witnessing to the faith by lives of committed Christians.

LADIES GUILD NEWS

Tuesday evening, November 18, the Ladies Guild will have a mass of Thanksgiving at 7:00 pm. All ladies of the parish are invited to join us as we thank God for our families and homes. All participants are reminded to bring items to help in the rehab work on the home for immigrants that the parish is sponsoring.

THANKSGIVING DAY MASS

We will once again continue the tradition of collecting canned goods and/or donations for food that will be given to St. Agatha Parish at the Thanksgiving Day Mass. Loaves of bread will be blessed at the mass and then given to the families to take home along with a short prayer service that can be used with your family. The concelebrated mass will be at 9:00 am on Thanksgiving Day. Please make plans to join us. Decorating for the Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 26. We could use some extra help.

SOCIAL JUSTICE - THE RIGHT OF BELIEVING MIGRANTS
