RETURNING GOD'S GIFTS
Our visitors continue to report excellent progress in
the Returning God's Gifts Campaign. To date we have
received $83,656.00 in pledges toward our goal of
$140,410.
By now many parishioners will have received a
letter and a brochure from Archbishop Rigali regarding
this effort. Please read the materials carefully. In
the coming weeks, a visitor will call to schedule an
appointment with you to discuss the campaign further.
Please receive him/her warmly and consider pledging the
best gift you can in support of Returning God's
Gifts.
An exciting component of the campaign is that each
parish will be able to use a portion of the money given
by parishioners to address its own needs. Ten percent
of all money raised here at Most Precious Blood will be
returned here.
There is a report meeting on Tuesday, November 25
at 7:30 pm in the cafeteria for the Team Captains and
Visitors. Please be on time.
CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Today we will have a second collection for the Bishops
Annual Campaign for Human Development. Now in its 27th
year, the Campaign has striven to break the hellish
circle of poverty by offering self-help programs to
communities across the Country. In the spirit of the
Thanksgiving Holiday, we ask you to be as generous as
possible.
Thanksgiving
There will only be one mass on Thanksgiving Day at
9:00am. Families are asked to bring canned food or
non-perishable items for the poor to mass. At the
offertory we will place these in the sanctuary along
with any monetary donations. All food will be given to
help our sister parish, St. Agatha in the inner city.
Blessed loaves of bread will be passed out at the end
of mass to unite our eucharistic table with your
feasting tables at home. A special blessing prayer
will also accompany the bread. Please bring your whole
family.
Congratulations
Today at the 9:30 am mass we welcome 5 new persons who
are seeking membership in our Church. They are: Vicki
James, Brenda Robinson, Donna Smugala, Ashley Smugala
and Scott Tate. We asked for your continued support of
them and their sponsors as they continue on their
journey of faith toward Holy Saturday.
We also welcome the 7th & 8th grade students from
the Parish school & School of Religion, along with
their parents and sponsors, to the 11:00 am mass today
as they are formally enrolled in our Confirmation
Preparation Program. This will be a most important
process in their faith development. Please keep them
in your prayers.
EARLY BULLETIN DEADLINE
Because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, the bulletin for
next weekend will be prepared Monday morning. All

ADULT EDUCATION LECTURE
Next Sunday, November 30, will be the second in the

The topic for this second meeting is Racism. The
talk will take place in the cafeteria immediately after
the 8:00 am mass. Breakfast is served first and the
talk should begin around 9:30 am. No registration is
necessary. This is an issue that is tearing the St.
Louis Community apart. What is our faith response?
How do we deal with prejudice feelings inside
ourselves? Join us for an honest discussion of the
issues.
Annointing of the Sick
During Advent we will have a communal anointing of the
sick on Sunday, December 7th at 1:00 pm. Anyone who

SOCIAL JUSTICE - THE RIGHT OF BELIEVING
MIGRANTS
Taking into account their particular needs, the state's
task is to ensure that immigrant families do not lack
what it ordinarily guarantees its own citizens. In
particular, it is the state's duty to protect them from
any attempt at marginalization or racism, promoting a
culture of convinced and active solidarity. For this
purpose it provides the most appropriate and concrete
measures for their acceptance, together with those
social services likely to foster for them too, a
peaceful life and a development that respects their
human dignity.
