Spirituality
To form a meaningful personal relationship with God, the students participate in the celebration of the Eucharist and in religious discussions and prayers.
Morally
To develop a sense of moral responsibility, a formation of right conscience and Christian values, the students are taught Chruch teachings, right and wrong, decision making, and self-discipline.
Academically
To recognize and develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills, SMMA seeks to employ the best qualified teachers and obtain books, resources, and technical equipment that foster effective learning.
Socially
To develop an attitude of mutual respect among the members of the school community, the students are encouraged to be responsible in their duties, accountable for their behavior, and aware of the various societies and cultures in our global society.
Emotionally
To instill confidence in each child and to develop a good self-image, we foster encouragement, affirmation, forgiveness, and an understanding of our own and others' capabilities.
Physically
To encourage healthy living habits, each child is instructed in proper exercise methods and the development of physical skills and coordination.
Our Learning Environment
The atmosphere and environment of SMMA is disciplined, safe, and caring. While the curriculum offers variety, our strong core academic program emphasizes the basics. Textbooks are current and approved by the Archdiocese.
Testing
On the standardized achievement tests, our students' average scores are higher in each subject area than the average Archdiocesan scores.
High School
Most of our graduates are able to enroll in the high school of their choice.
Teachers
All teachers have college degrees and Missouri State Teaching Certificates. Several teachers have master's degrees. We also have the following specialized teachers:
    • Teacher aides for kindergarten through third grade
    • Full-time teachers for music, physical education, and computer classes
    • Two full-time resource teachers
