Christ the King School is dedicated to providing a quality education for all its students. A total experience, solidly based on Catholic values, attempts to prepare students for life in a culture which is becoming increasingly materialistic. The moral, spiritual, academic and physical education of the whole child is the foundation of the curriculum. Daily opportunities for spiritual and moral growth contribute to a true sense of selfworth, while academic and physical challenges foster a true sense of accomplishment and self-knowledge. The development of leadership skills, communication skills, compassion for others and a sense of environmental stewardship are top priorities.
(1) The students will be provided a foundation in the
knowledge and practice of the Catholic faith for life-long spiritual growth.
(2) The students will envelop a knowledge base enabling them to strive
for academic excellence.
(3) The students will be provided an atmosphere conducive to the
development of a realistic and positive self-image enabling them to draw on their
God-given inner strengths.
(4) The students will promote social and environmental awareness through
community involvement.
To achieve the mission and goals of Christ the King School, the pastor, priests, principal, faculty and staff, school advisory boards and parents and guardians will be accountable for seeing that students take advantage of the educational opportunities and experiences provided by the school and parish community. To achieve the mission of our school, the following interdisciplinary learning outcomes will be pursued. Students will:
(1) Practice Christian values to continue the ministry of
the Catholic Church.
(2) Show respect for individual differences in order to grow together as
a community.
(3) Demonstrate essential math skills to meet evolving demands of
society.
(4) Relate knowledge of the natural sciences to appreciate and preserve
God's creation.
(5) Utilize current technology and information resources to become
informed individuals.
(6) Apply critical thinking skills needed for problem solving.
(7) Exhibit a knowledge of the various art forms in order to promote an
appreciation of the fine arts.
(8) Demonstrate physical skills and development appropriate for a healthy
learning environment.
Christ the King School admits students of any race, color, nationality or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students of this school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, athletic and/or other school-administered programs. Since Christ the King is a parish school, students are to be children of registered parish members. Exceptions to the rule are to be made by the pastor and the principal.
Children entering kindergarten are to be five years of age on or before September 1. Those entering the first grade are to be six years of age on or before the same date.
Catholic parents who enroll their children in Christ the King School are expected to practice their faith. This responsibility includes Mass attendance every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation and training their children in the Catholic faith by word and example. In addition, it means financial support for the parish.
As a condition for enrolling or re-enrolling any child at Christ the King School, parents and guardians must sign and submit the Tuition/Policy Agreement which is distributed on Fee Day. By signing the agreement, parents or guardians agree to abide by all policies and provisions set forth.
Students will be admitted to Christ the King School according to the following priorities. (An active parish family is one who is registered in the parish and shares time, talent and treasure with the parish community):
Siblings of children of active CTK parish families already enrolled at Christ the King School.
Children of active CTK parish families who have a child who has graduated from Christ the King School.
Children of active CTK parish families, including transfer students from public schools, who live within the parish boundaries.
Children of active CTK parish families who live outside the parish boundaries.
Children of Catholic non-CTK parish families.
Non-Catholic students.
Grade size is limited to a maximum of 60 students. When a grade reaches 54, only children in categories A, B or C of the admissions priorities (above) will be admitted into the school.
Once admitted, a student who is otherwise qualified to continue enrollment has the right to continued enrollment at Christ the King School.
WAITING LISTS: when a grade's enrollment reaches 54, a waiting list will be established. If space is available, students on the waiting list will be admitted according to the above priority.

The Home and School Association is an organization of parents and
guardians of children enrolled in Christ the King School. Its purpose is to enhance the
school and its programs and to serve as a forum for communication
between home and school. The officers included in the Executive Committee are President,
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. There are also at least three, but no more than
five, "members at large". These positions
are elected on a rotating basis. No person shall serve on the Executive Committee for more
than three consecutive years. The meetings are held monthly.
Among its many activities the HSA promotes the major fund-raiser for the
school. With the support of our pastor, principal and parents, the money generated from
this endeavor has supplied needed items for the school, children and faculty.
An active School Board began in 1990 and has served as an advisory body to
the pastor and the school's chief administrator, namely the principal. The nine members of
the School Board bring their diverse backgrounds and
unique experiences to help represent the parish as a whole. The School Board concerns
itself with matters that pertain to the operation of the educational programs and
facilities of the school.
One primary Board responsibility is that of the Mission of the school. By focusing on
Mission, the Board recognizes that Catholic and Christian values are paramount to the
success of the school, and more importantly, to the students who are entrusted to the
teachers and staff.
Each Board member serves for a three year period and is chosen through a yearly
discernment process. The terms are staggered, however, so that each year three Board
members will complete their terms. They can then decide whether to rotate off the Board or
apply to serve a second term. The board is governed by both a Mission Statement and
By-Laws describing its role and responsibilities.
Parish School of Religion (PSR) provides public school students with
religious instruction. Classes are available for parish students in first grade through
eighth grade and are held on Mondays 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the school classrooms.
This organization is sponsored by the parish to help boys and girls to
learn to serve God and community through nationally established scouting programs,
implemented by our troops and pack.
The CTK Preschool is an extension of Christ the King School. The program
follows the policies and regulations of the diocesan Board of Education and the Office for
Catholic Education.
MISSION: Christ the King School is establishing a preschool to provide
educational services to prepare children for Christ the King School in the years before
they enter kindergarten. The preschool will be for three-year-olds, four-year-olds and
some five-year-olds.
(1) Each student is a child of God who possesses an
innate dignity which deserves respect.
(2) Each child comes to us with individual talents, abilities, weaknesses
and deficiencies and has the right to learn according to his or her developmental level in
a loving, supportive environment.
(3) Christ the King Preschool is concerned with the whole child: with
developing faith, with growing intellectually and physically, and with being good and
getting along well with others.
(1) To help our children know that God loves them and
that they can respond to God's love by doing what He wants them to do.
(2) To help our children develop good behavior by sharing things, taking
turns, listening, helping others, loving, thanking, and celebrating.
(3) To help our children develop their language, pre-reading and writing,
and math skills.
(4) To help our children develop fine motor skills.
To be admitted as a three-year-old, a child must be three by September 1
of the specified school year. To be admitted as a four-year-old, a child must be four by
September 1 of the specified school year. A student who does not enroll in the
kindergarten program at age five may be admitted to the four-year old program for an
additional year. A child who attends half-day kindergarten may be admitted to the
four-year-old program afternoon session.
Children must be toilet-trained in order to be admitted.
The preschool follows the admissions policy of Christ the King School, which gives
preference to the children of practicing members of Christ the King Parish who live within
the parish boundaries.
Admission of a child in the preschool program creates no expectation that the child will
be admitted to the K-8 school program. Admission to kindergarten is independent of the
preschool program.
