Faith Formation Groups

Our Faith Formation program for kindergarten through fifth grade meets on Sunday mornings. Classes are held at 9:00AM or 11:20AM, and pre-registration is required. All children six years and older should be attending a Catholic School or a Faith Formation program.

Children must be enrolled as first graders in order to begin preparation for the reception of their First Reconciliation and First Communion as second graders. Supplemental Sacrament studies are held on Saturday morning or Wednesday evening, each Fall and Spring.

In addition to our Faith Curriculum, students experience music classes, children’s liturgies, service projects, and occasional crafts. We also host a fourth grade Seder meal and a fifth grade retreat and field trip.

Wee Worship:

Wee Worship is a program for 3 and 4 year olds. It is conducted during the 10:00 AM Mass. Members attend church with parents and are dismissed by the priest before the homily. Parents obtain children after Mass from the school. Children do activities based on Sunday scripture readings. For more information call Janine Plavac at 332-6279, ext. 55.

Pathfinders:

Are you a 6^th, 7^th, or 8^th grader looking to experience fun, fellowship, and faith sharing with others your own age? Come join us on Sundays from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at Pathfinder Faith Formation youth group at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Why not come give us a try. For information call 332-6279, ext. 52.

Visions:

All Catholic High School Youth, we have a program for you. Join us for Faith Formation and fun. Our youth group meets Sundays 3:00-5:00. We currently have about 60 registered youth participating in numerous activities including: lock ins, retreats, community service projects, caroling, skiing, and much more. Summer Vacation Bible School:

Each summer, usually in July, Queen of Peace conducts a Vacation Bible School for two weeks.

Early Drop Off: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM

Class Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Extended Day: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM

This program takes children on a lively journey with God’s Word and shows how God loves us and shares his love with us. Each day is filled with stories, games, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks. VBS makes Christ the center of each lesson and equips our kids to share God’s love with others. For more information on this program, call Sister Beatrice at 332-6279.

Landings:

Landings is a proven program designed to welcome those inactive Catholics who wish to investigate returning. With Landings, a group of six to eight active Catholics join together to welcome two or three returning Catholics.

The group provides a safe spot to touch down where they will share faith journeys, prayer, and discussions of Catholic spirituality with ordinary Catholics who are trying to live their faith.

The Creed, Prayer, Scripture, and personal spiritual autobiographies and concerns set the agenda for the meetings.

At the conclusion of the process, they will experience the joy and healing of a weekend retreat, possibly with other Landings groups. For more information contact Sister Beatrice at 332-6279.
