Formation Philosophy
The Queen of Peace Faith Formation Program
affirms:
·
The
basic philosophy of Christian education as enunciated by Vatican II.
·
Basic
philosophy illustrated by the National Catholic Council of Bishops and the
Catholic Bishops of Florida.
We are committed to proclaim the Good News of
Jesus Christ. It is through the
Catholic Faith that:
·
The
Message is proclaimed
·
Community
is fostered
·
Service
is offered
·
Worship
is celebrated
The faith community as a whole has the
responsibility for catechists of all its members; children and adults of all
ages.
Catechesis is a life long process of:
·
Conversion
·
Formation
·
Spiritual
Growth
Parents are recognized as the first and
foremost catechists of their children.
Catechetical programs:
·
Are
intended to support parents in nurturing their children’s faith by the witness
of a worshipping, believing, serving community.
·
By
helping parents in their catechetical role.
·
Familiarizing
parents with the stages of their children’s growth and the relevance these
stages have for catechesis.
The intrinsic value and uniqueness of every
person is to be recognized and respected in catechetical programs.
The Queen of Peace Faith Formation Team
strives to foster an atmosphere of:
·
Respect
·
Service
·
Love
·
Ensures that justice, mercy, and peace are an integral part of the
program.
