M.O.M.S.

Ministry of Mothers Sharing

In 1994, The Ministry of Mothers Sharing, M.O.M.S., started at Queen of Peace. As of March 2000, over 150 women have joyfully completed the 8-week program which creates in women an awareness of the inner sacred self, while at the same time teaching them new ways to inspire, encourage, and affirm each other. Through the process of personal and spiritual growth, these women have had the opportunity to clarify their values, claim their own giftedness, and bring these new strengths to their family relationships and to the Christian Community. We are so pleased to report that many of our Queen of Peace graduates, after the affirmation of their gifts, have continued on the be successful leaders in other ministries in our church.

Queen of Peace offers two M.O.M.S. programs each year: a morning session in the fall and an evening session in the winter (Jan-March). Each session is limited to12 participants and is directed by three trained facilitators. Each participant is assigned a prayer sponsor who prays for and encourages her on her journey. The group meets weekly for eight weeks and concludes the program with a celebration dinner or brunch. At this wondrous occasion, the participants meet with their prayer sponsor, enjoy a special mail prepared by past M.O.M.S. graduates, listen to a guest speaker, and rejoice in their new growth.

The Winter 2002 M.O.M.S. sessions will start on Thursday, January 17, 2002, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. If you are interested in signing up for the Winter session, please contact Lisa DiRico at 376-3169. We also are seeking prayer sponsors for the Winter sessions, so if you are interested, please contact Marlene Lowery at 376-8893.
