Parish Has Fun With Fundraisers
Parish members, parents, relatives, students and faculty members have been actively involved in raising funds for St. Maurice School. The Parent's Club has had three breakfasts; bagged groceries at County Market; worked and sold tickets for a Bergner's School Sale; ran a Q.S.P. sale program; and have an upcoming auction on April 16th at 11 a.m. at the KC Hall. The principal is currently running a Millenium 1999-2001 fundraiser for special high priced school items, as seen on the wish list. Mr. Floreth along with the 7th and 8th grade classes have raised money for an overnight trip by train to Chicago. Parents and students will stay in the Chicago Hilton, visit the Art Museum; Chicago Hall of Science and Industry; Shedd Aquarium; the top of a skyscraper; and religious sites.
Mr. Floreth has been astonished by the hard working enthusiasm of all the volunteers. Each one puts in so much time and effort! Even so, every activity feels like a party. You are free to join any activity anytime you are around!
In the next Alumni News the Millenium Fund contributors, families, or individual memorials, given this year will be listed, along with alumni donations given directly to the school. In our hallway, three new items are present: a picture of the new Bishop, George Lucas; our new state certification; a beautiful plaque donated by the family of Barbara "Babe" (Grundy) Todt to honor donors of the school.
