Father Gobbi speaks, January 1, 2000 in Milan

Ave Maria!

Dearest ones – at the beginning of this New Year and this New Millennium, I extend my good wishes to all of you.

With the Great Jubilee that the Church is celebrating this year, for the Marian Movement of Priests – a period is closing and one is opening. The period of its silence is closing, the hidden preparation in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a new phase of its fulfillment is approaching. I write to all of you to correspond to the enormous graces obtained by Our Heavenly Mother.

…..Let us show ourselves as Apostles of Mary; Apostles of these last times. Last times, not in the sense of those who prophesy the End of the World, absolutely NOT! But the world must still come to know His Glorious Reign….. We are walking towards this Glorification of Christ.

We must be that reality and witness. All must see this is a movement formed by Mary, so we can give a courageous witness of faith; carry with us the living Gospel and the splendour of its truth….. Let us announce it with courage and faith, with humility and strength, especially in the face of so many errors, let us be anchored in the light of Christ and His Divine Splendour.

…..Beginning this year, we await a deep renewal of the world…... We pray for this 100 year period of Satan to be limited by the intervention of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who solicits Jesus to diffuse upon the world the miracle of His Merciful Love, so that the spirit of evil be banished into hell, the door of the abyss be closed. Upon the world will come a renewed, joyous and luminous Presence of God among His children.

Let us become witnesses of this reality, because we live for Him, we are created for Him and redeemed by Him. We have been created for these times to carry the peaceful Cross, so that we may see the greatest Triumph of Christ. I quote the Apostolic Letter of the Holy Father given on the World Mission Day:

"…..The approaching of the Third Millennium of Redemption – there is a great Springtime for Christianity that will come all over the world." The Pope has the courage to invite this – he continues – "With Mary, Star of the Morning, let us say our YES to the Lord, so that all the Nations will see His Glory."

Let us say our YES with our Act of Consecration. Let us say our YES to the plan of the Father, realised in His only begotten Son Incarnate, who died on the Cross, and rose from the dead, the living God with us.

He is the Beginning and the End – the Alpha and Omega – always the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Let us await the New Day, prepared by so much suffering. PRAISE BE JESUS CHRIST!

These excerpts were taken from a homily given by Fr Gobbi in Milan 1^st Jan, 2000. Our thanks to Our Blessed Lady who is Mother to us all. Our thanks also to Fr Gobbi who continues to work tirelessly for Our Lady's Marian Movement of Priests.

In June 1999 Fr Gobbi travelled in America and Europe, visiting 70 cities, on 55 flights and presiding over 100 cenacles – 45 Bishops, 2600 priests and 400,000 faithful were present in total. In addition, the spiritual exercises at Collevalenza were attended by one Cardinal, 25 Archbishops and Bishops and 300 priests from every continent. Fr Gobbi also thanked Fr Michael Gaughran and Fr Francis Geremia who travelled in his name to many countries.

Fr Gobbi hopes to visit Oceania this year – dates to be confirmed.
