Documentary Oral Presentation

The task:

1. This task requires you to work in pairs
2. You must present a four to five minute section of the documentary Judgment At Midnight to the rest of the class.
3. Your particular section of the documentary will be allocated to you
4. You will be given an opportunity to view your section at least one more time after the initial viewing

The presentation:

1. Your main task is to outline the techniques that the documentary makers have used in order to obtain a particular audience response
2. Both members of the group need to participate in the presentation
3. It is your decision to either talk over the documentary or play it before or after your discussion of techniques

Evaluation:

1. You will be marked on the content of your speech:

• identification of techniques
• depth of analysis of techniques
• clearly showing how techniques work to evoke a particular audience response

1. You will be marked on the presentation of your speech

• using expression and other vocal techniques
• the use of the video to focus your presentation
• consideration of audience
