Dear _________________

I am writing this letter to express my concern at the recent decision to disband the Over 60’s Mobility Program for the Senior Citizens in the Camperdown area.

For many years, this program has been extremely beneficial for the participants, both on a health and social level, and each Physiotherapist that has worked on behalf of the Community Physiotherapy Services has been superb. The current group leader, Michelle Elliot , is well loved by all participants.

It is difficult to conceive how something as important as providing the best Health Care for our elderly citizens could be compromised and devalued simply because of a supposed lack of funds.

I am certain of the detrimental effects that disbanding would have on the participants of the Mobility Program because my own mother attends. As a Diabetes sufferer with many other ailments ,the healing of which the physical nature of the Program supports, my mother is in need of this Program . For many others , the hour spent participating in the Mobility Program may be their only chance of exercise each week, and most importantly, their only real motivation.

I look forward to a favourable outcome for all concerned and trust in your support as is afforded by your role as Chairperson of the Seniors Ministerial Advisory Committee.

Sincerely,

Mr. Joe Smith
