| Over the years the study of geology
has led to two distinct areas - Modern Uniformitarian
Geology and Deluge Geology. To a certain degree, much
contradiction exists between one and the other. Modern Uniformitarian Geology basically tells us that the wonderful sculptures of rock and land that we find, were done through millions and millions of years by the ordinary forces of nature; slowly and uniformly building and eroding over immense time, until today. Modern Uniformitarian Geology complements Evolution Geology. |

| Sir Charles Lyell (1797-1875) was the founding father of modern geology. Lyell was a lawyer without any genuine knowledge about geology. However, his dynamic efforts converted the world to accept modern uniformitarian geology. Lyell's ideas were pleasing to Darwin. His idea of nature slowly acting across immense time spans was exactly what Darwin required to sustain his theory of evolution. Darwin now had the immense time spans to add credibility to his theory. It has been said, in fact, that Lyell prepared Darwin's mind for evolution. Lyell and Darwin in partnership gave us the modern geological column, on which is based the modern world view of both geology and evolution. | |||||
| It is accepted that this geological column has no physical reality. It is not something you can physically dig through with a spade. The geological column is essentially a mental image; an imaginary column put together by inserting various fragments and pieces of fossils from various parts of the world. It does not exist in any part of the world. In any one place you will find only one or a small amount of these strata. Often is the case that many strata are missing. Worse still, some strata are actually reversed. | |||||

The Geological column
viewed through the eyes of Evolutionists. It must be emphatically stressed that the geological column is based on fossils in the rocks and not on methods using radioactive dating. The fossils are used to determine the age of the rocks! The supposed age of a fossil in a rock is used to determine the age of the rock. The geological column was built on fossils long before radioactive dating was introduced. Evolution was assumed when building the column and now the column is used to support evolution (circular reasoning). From the assumption of evolution comes the proof of evolution. However, the geological column is contradicted by hard facts and logical scientific reasoning.

| Example : In almost every major
continent there are examples of older rocks (using
radioactive dating) resting on top of younger rocks! The clearest example is to be found at the Matterhorn mountains. In this mountain the fossils are in the wrong sequence. Therefore, by evolution geology, the mountain is old and the rocks the mountain rests on are young. How can this possibly be explained? The current explanation runs thus:- the enormous Matterhorn was uplifted somewhere by an upthrust and then thrust horizontally across country for thirty to sixty miles! |

Another
example is the most famous peak in the alps - the Mythen
Peak. This is supposed to have been thrust all the way
from Africa into Switzerland. There are numerous examples like the aforementioned examples. The Lewis "overthrust" of Montana in America follows the same peculiar reasoning. Going by the fossils, this tremendous mountain system is upside down. Pre- Cambrian rocks are resting on top of Cretaceous rocks, supposedly five hundred million years younger. To justify this, Lyell's geology says that this mountain mass, five hundred miles long, thousands of feet high, weighing eight hundred thousand billion tons, and containing some of the most glorious scenery in the world, must have been uplifted in some other place then slid across country for at least thirty five to forty miles. Common sense says that this could not happen, the field evidence said that it never did happen and engineering principles say that it would not happen. |

| When
fossils say that many mountains all over the world are
upside down, either the rocks are wrong or the theory is
wrong! Evolution geology forces the rocks to fit the theory. The mountain apparently slides across country, substantiated with some vague, crass explanation such as 'interspecial water trapped under pressure and floating the mountains along'. In many mountainous areas, strata thousands of feet thick are bent and folded into hairpin shapes. The conventional geological time-scale says these formations were deeply buried and solidified for hundreds of millions of years before they were bent. Yet the folding occurred without cracking, with radii so small that the entire formation had to be still wet and unsolidified when the bending occurred. This implies that the folding occurred less than thousands of years after deposition. Dr. Burdick, geologist, comments:- "Altyn Dolomite does not have the inner strength to withstand pressure, not even a local pressure .... Think of the massive power needed to push a mass of billions of tons of rock over lower rock. The crushing strength of rock has been exceeded many times over and it is incredible to me that evolutionists will cling to the idea of thrust fault just to save evolution concepts." The sedimentary rocks in which we find fossils, were formed by sediments deposited under moving water, and they cover most of the earth's surface. They are on such a colossal scale that no ordinary sedimentation could have deposited them. Furthermore, sedimentary rocks are the only rocks that contain fossils. They are very rich in fossils and yet there is virtually no fossilisation happening today. |
