Petition sent to Premier Richard Court by students at one Western Australian School in 1998.

A LETTER TO THE PREMIER RICHARD COURT, REGARDING THE ABORTION LAWS OF

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Dear Premier Richard Court,

We, the undersigned are calling for effective measures to guarantee that

the Abortion Laws be upheld in Western Australia.

Whilst we are pleased that abortionists are being prosecuted for

procuring an abortion, we are discouraged to think that the committal

proceedings for Dr. Chan, and the intentions of politicians such as

Cheryl Davenport, may lead to a reversal of the current laws.

Media bias and general ignorance should never be enough reason to change

a law that upholds the most fundamental right that exists, namely, the

Right to Life. We are sure that you, as all of us, have never seen an

abortion procedure shown on television. If this were the case, the vast

majority of Western Australia would be horrified.

Ex-abortionists such as the famous Dr. Nathansen from the United States,

have revealed how pro-abortionists falsify figures and polls to lobby

for their cause. This occurred previous to the 1973 decision to legalise

abortion across America. Dr. Nathansen ( whose confession can be found

on the internet at http://home.earthlink.net/~cdia/confessi.htm) now

mourns the fact that a 1500% increase in abortions occurred primarily

because of him and others with him. We also know, that the 1973 decision

also led, to what has been called the "partial-birth" abortion

procedure, the ban against which was vetoed by President Clinton.

We do not want this for Western Australia. We do not want to be

responsible for the unjustifiable murder of thousands of healthy babies,

from healthy mothers. We would like to see the current law enforced so

that we can save thousands of lives and foster a climate which values

life, non-violence, respect for all, responsibility and accountability.

We do not feel that current polls taken in Western Australia are

inclusive of all the community, or an informed community. We would like

to have our say for we have not been asked for our opinion and we do not

feel that it is responsible for any government to allow a change to a

law based on media bias and subjective polls. We are talking about life

and death issues, not merely about freedom of speech and action.

Finally, we trust that you will do all in your power, as our leader, to

ensure that all our community members, including the unborn, have a

chance of all that life offers.
