THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

Task: To design an A3 sized poster depicting the nature of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Tools: Bible - St. Matthew's Gospel (Parables) and class discussions.

Hints: Whilst the fulfillment of the Kingdom of Heaven will be fully visible in Heaven, we begin to live it on earth when we cooperate in Jesus' actions here in earth. In other words, when we play our part in bringing this Kingdom on Earth.

We have already seen in class that this Kingdom has many characteristics. The parables help us to understand what the ideal is in this Kingdom and what our role is.

Your poster must contain at least 10 images/symbols which represent the Kingdom of Heaven. Your images must represent the;

* culture in this kingdom - "The way we do things around here"

* the beliefs of this Kingdom

* the source of power in this Kingdom

* the consequences of living in this Kingdom

There is to be very little white space left on your poster once this has been completed.

Criteria for assessing:

1. Clarity - each image must speak louder than words
2. Comprehension - understanding of the parables and what we have seen and discussed in class and been tested on in the test
3. Application - Have I tried to do my best even though I cannot draw very well? Have I taken the time out to do my best?

The A3 sized paper will be distributed at the start of Term 3. Today, you are to begin working on your draft. Brainstorm first.
