A sample 'praise letter' given to parents to praise their child for work done in class. These types of letters have worked wonders. One of my students, two years ago, received $10 from his mother for the letter I sent home. A parent just phoned me this week thanking me for sending the letter to her and encouraged that it be taken on board by all staff.

Dear Mr. and Mrs.

At times, parents will receive notification of their child’s disruptive behaviour but will not learn of the positive aspects of their child’s behaviour and academic performance.

Therefore, I am writing to advise you that I am pleased with _____________s efforts this term. She is to be particularly congratulated for the following ;

Please continue to encourage your child to excel in the above and in any other area that has not been highlighted.

Yours sincerely
